Moving Through Fear | MackenzieChester

Make Something Every Day. I am in the second trimester of my sixth pregnancy. This is really happening. This is set in motion. In a few short months, this pregnancy will end in labor, delivery, and the prize of all prizes–another sweet baby in our family. People literally say to me all the time, regarding birth, “Oh, you’re a pro by now.” “This one will be a piece of cake.” (And this one I particularly love…) “Don’t you just pop them out? And here I am. But this time is different. The difference is amazi...

Make Something Every Day. Half a Year of Paper Dolls from The Paper Doll Club. It is The Paper Doll Club’s Half-Birthday! Thanks to all of those who stop by and print out our drawings to color and play with. It has been a lot of fun for me and the kids. This week, I have to admit, that due to a lot of major transition in our lives (more coming on that soon…), and the fact that our house is turned upside down right now in the middle of a major re-arrange, and that I totally forgot until just now! Create a...

Miss Blackbird Pie | MackenzieChester
https://mackenziechester.wordpress.com/2016/03/14/miss-blackbird-pie
Make Something Every Day. In honor of Pi Day, I made a pie dolly today. She is based on the old nursery rhyme:. Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of rye. 4 and 20 blackbirds, baked in a pie. When the pie was opened, the birds began to sing. Wasn’t that a dainty dish to set before the King? You can find other videos and all of our music for sale and download on our website: www.thejosephineknot.com. Paloma has made a partial drawing. Finish it for her! What does she look like? Where is she standing?

Make Something Every Day. Janie, Rosie, Heidi, and Mae. This week the girls named their paper dolls after themselves. Not sure why. Rosie named the cat after her baby sister, Heidi. I love Rosie’s color palette this week. She drew her pictures on white card stock and painted them with watercolors, then cut them and pasted them onto a piece of brown kraft paper (my favorite! And she did it all without any advice from me. I was napping. : ). We love hearing your ideas for paper dolls! March 28, 2016. Join ...

Making Time for Quiet | MackenzieChester
https://mackenziechester.wordpress.com/2015/09/26/making-time-for-quiet
Make Something Every Day. Making Time for Quiet. My life is loud. With five happy healthy children ages seven and under, a husband who is basically the personification of music, recording in the living room and making Irish whistles and bamboo saxophones all hours of the day and night–not to mention around 25 piano, guitar, and whistle students that rotate in and out of our small house each week–peace and quiet rarely (I would say actually never) happens by accident. This is how it works. Every afternoon...

Make Something Every Day. Ms Cinnamon, Moon Shell the Selkie, Pansy and Lilly by The Paper Doll Club. I love this week’s paper dolls. Rosie’s are inspired by Song of the Sea, an amazing movie based on the traditional Irish legend of the Selkie, a girl who turns into a seal. I especially love her name, Moon Shell, and the fact that she is wearing a seaweed dress. Printable paper dolls by Rosie Chester of The Paper Doll Club. Our first ever paper doll in The Paper Doll Club. See you next week! Fill in your...

Make Something Every Day. The Princess and The Pea and Beauty and the Beast. Hello from The Paper Doll Club. We are having some technical difficulties around here. Our internet has been down off and on for two weeks, which has made uploading impossible, and last week our scanner died. (See the weird marks on the bottom of Paloma’s drawing) : (. I was able to scan in 3 of our dolls before the scanner died. So here they are. I hope you like them! We hope you enjoy these dolls. Lots of love,. April 22, 2016.
