The castle, museum, and shops were all closed for the evening, though. We headed back to the hotel and had another pub meal. Ireland-Bantry to Kenmare →. January 24, 2011 · 3:17 am. It was interesting to notice that although Cork is not all that far from Dublin, 160 miles and 5 hours drive, Cork residents had a very different accent than Dubliners. Ireland- Staigue Fort →. January 25, 2011 · 2:26 am. We met a brother and sister from Limerick and talked farming with them some, and bought some fruits from them before heading on our way again. The next leg of the journey took us over the Caha Mountains, and we knew we had made the right choice to travel this. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more wild and remote and extraordinarily rugged, we rounded a curve and ahead of us the road disappeared into a tunnel! Turner's Tunnel, Caha Mountains.
