Jefferson County Fairgrounds Ticket Booth. A ticket booth that was a long-standing symbol of the Jefferson County Fair is now owned by the 4 River Valleys Historical Society. The Watertown City Council sold the building to the 4RVHS in June 1999. The structure has stood on the fairgrounds since 1853 and is now used by the 4RVHS for exhibits during the annual Jefferson County Fair. It is the building that many associate with the county fair with the longest unbroken annual run in the country.

Located in Great Bend, New York near the bridge to Fort Drum is the quiet Trinity Chapel now owned by the 4 River Valleys Historical Society. The Chapel was built in 1875 due to the efforts of Mary Bradford Sterling Clark on a plot of land donated by her husband George Clark. It is Gothic in design and retains its century old beauty and furnishings. It was furnished on July 15, 1875, and consecrated on. The Chapel is available for weddings and other appropriate services upon request.

4 River Valleys Historical Society Acquires Deed to Historic Hiram Hubbard House. The family and the home to the annual Membership Dinner in the Champion Grange Hall. Reproductions of old family photographs and scrapbooks were also displayed. The Rogers children explained that their options about what to do with the house were limited because of a condition in a family will written during the 1800's that. As you can see from the interior photographs, the house needs a great deal of TLC and members.

The 4 River Valleys Historical Society is based in Carthage, New York. Our mission is to interpret, preserve, collect and make available evidence of the past and to further understand and appreciate the prehistory and history of the areas of the Beaver, Black, Indian and Deer River Valleys. Organized in 1977, the society averages over 600 members. We have published several books which are now available on this web site in Items for Sale. Our 21 directors represent the various communities within the area.
