http://diaryofamandolinquent.blogspot.com/2011/05/banj-tastic.html
Diary of a mandolinquent. Monday, May 2, 2011. I can't tell you all just how much fun I'm having with my wee Style M tenor banjo! Desperate to get planetary tuners on it though, so that I can stop having to tune it up between each tune I play - janey mack, however in the world did folks back in the 'teens manage to play these and not be driven demented. As their instrument slipped out of tune constantly! Learnt "The Ebb Tide", which I think is now one of my favourite hornpipes ever. And then a couple of ...

It had a flat fretboard - I'm just not a flat fretboard gal. UPDATE: I've had the Tripl...

Irish Tenor Banjo Blog: July 2015
http://itmbanjo.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Irish Tenor Banjo Blog. Monday, July 6, 2015. What I can do is give you some ideas about how to setup your banjo and where the limits of an amateur banjo mechanic are. Most of this is common sense if you know how a banjo works but there is a scare factor when it comes to messing with your expensive banjo. This video is aimed at the player who wants to maintain his or her instrument, not someone who wants to make major changes or anything past changing the head. Which only has a simple metal hoop (of cour...

Diary of a mandolinquent. Saturday, March 5, 2011. All changed, changed utterly. Gig bag for it. Glenn's bags are pure class - top notch workmanship and attention to detail and fits the Silver Bell like a glove. Here's what it looks like:. The little turnwheels on top of it are a wee bit less than ideal for tenor players - prior to making my mute Mike had never. Diary of a mandolinquent. Sunday, December 27, 2009. Bad case of F2-itis. Does the MAS ever end? Nowadays I'm older and wiser, so most likely I'll not be selling all me stuff in the name of owning that F2, but damn, it's tempting! Just got the tracking info - looks like my long awaited JBovier emando shipped on the 26th, so hopefully will be here by the end of the week! Weber Gallatin F oval. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Diary of a mandolinquent. Sunday, January 24, 2010. To commission or not to commission, that is the question? Thought I'd treat you to a wee shot of my newest toy - a J.Bovier EMC emando. I'm not actually plugging it in at all, don't even have a bleedin amp in the house! Rather I'm using it as my quiet practice mandolin and it absolutely rocks! I don't know, there's still a big list of folks who I'd love to have a mandolin by - folk like:. I've totally crossed over to the F side now. Go on, be nosey.
