Friday, March 26, 2010. In John Deere Green. I live in the South and I knew it was only a matter of time before a request was made for a John Deere cake. It wasn't hard to find inspiration, I only had to open our cabinets and pull out my husbands favorite "John Deere" coffee mug. I free handed the design onto fondant and carefully cut it out before placing it on the buttercream cake. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Ohhh how I LOVED designing and bringing this cake to "life". Monday, March 7, 2011. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Yeah, I went there, haha. I had a blast making this cake. Have I mentioned I love Dr. Seuss. Designing a cake after one of his books is never boring. The cakes are iced in buttercream. All decorations are hand sculpted out of fondant. The features on the Grinch. White chocolate cream cheese frosting recipe. 8 oz cream cheese (I use the 1/3 less fat kind). 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean if you feel like splurging. 6 oz white chocolate (I like to use Ghiradelli white chocolate chips). 4-5 cups of sifted powdered sugar (depending on your desired texture).
