Sunday, January 25, 2015. Words, Backwards Flashlight, Giveaway. We started something new the end of last week and I'm kinda excited about it:). Let me back up.it started with this pin from The Balanced Literacy Diet. They recommended that the student find 2 words in their reading and then become masters of those words making a card with pictures and clues for that word. Then their classmates try to figure it out. There's so much I love about this! The word for this one was reluctant. Love that pic:).

Top 3 Takeways and Memories from ISTE 2014. For the past week, I've had visitors from Sunday to Sunday and now I finally have time to blog about my first experience at ISTE 2014 last weekend. ISTE was nothing short of invigorating. A couple weeks ago, I went to the whole brain teaching conference and was blown away and now I'm all WBT Tech Tools = Sweet 1st Grade Classroom! If any of you have ever been ISTE then you can attest to how massive and overwhelming it is! The poster sessions were also great!

We tell them, "fiction means Not real" and "nonfiction means real." Many students say they get them confused because of that silly little "N.". I'm pretty sure I've posted about these before but don't think I've given instructions.if so, sorry.lol.end of year teacher brain:/ Lots of pics ahead.a mini tutorial and some final products:).
