Sunday, December 19, 2010. A thousand apologies.I skipped a week of projects here. Tis the holiday season and my head has been wrapped around all the preparations. But I think this week's project makes up for my absence last week. It starts off with a half gallon of milk (I used whole milk) in a heavy bottom saucepan heated until it boils. After the milk boils a half cup of hot water and a quarter cup of lemon juice is added. This addition causes the milk to separate and solid curds are formed. 5 Wrap th...

52 Projects: May 2010

http://52paintedhouseprojects.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 30, 2010. Week 19: a little off track. With summer officially around the corner, I plan to step back up to the home plate with my enthusiasm and get moving on so many things that I've been wanting to do. Hopefully we've seen the end of these very busy weekends for while and I can get back on track. I'm going to try my best to get those scrabble tiles drilled this coming week and a few birds made. I'll post them when it happens. What did you do this week? Sunday, May 23, 2010. For the wind chi...

Monday, July 26, 2010. Week 27: Volunteering at Ironman Lake Placid. So our time here has been spent like this:. We arrived on Friday evening. Sunday morning was race morning. We woke up at 5am and headed in to town. The open water swim started at the lake at 7am. There were close to 3000 competitors in the water waiting for the start horn to go off. It was an amazing sight to see that many people at once start off for the swim. Sunday, July 18, 2010. Week 26: Thanks Jim Carey, now I'm an F@#KING actress!

52 Projects: Week 46: testing silicone bakeware and decorating ornaments

http://52paintedhouseprojects.blogspot.com/2010/12/week-46-testing-silicone-bakeware-and.html

Sunday, December 5, 2010. Week 46: testing silicone bakeware and decorating ornaments. This week I decided to feature two projects. We're hitting the holiday season after all so why not throw in a little extra fun. Project #1: Testing silicone bakeware. Once the pan was COMPLETELY cool, the little brownies popped out pretty easily. Project #2: decorating ornaments. Remember those Adirondack Inks that I used on white tiles many projects ago? Reminds me of stained glass. What did you do this week? I absolu...

52 Projects: June 2010

http://52paintedhouseprojects.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 27, 2010. Week 23: A gardening project. A few days later I walked by a neighbor's garden and complimented her black-eyed susans. The next thing I know she's got a shovel and I'm walking home with a huge clump of them to plant in my own yard. We worked hard together out in the sun for nearly five hours. It was fabulous. We hauled away 5 full bags of lawn debris, which Breen helped to fill up for us. The front yard looks so loved and happy. What did you do this week? Sunday, June 20, 2010.

Since it is about to snow A L O T. I thought this would be a good time to catch up on some of my christmas projects. This year my friend ornaments combines fabric and paper, beads and glitter. I used images from old prayer cards my mom loaned me and added some from the graphics fairy - between the two of them, they have everything. Links to this post. Links to this post. My Nature squares are done and I am finally getting them posted - yeah! It was fun to pick and choose things I really like from nature. Amy Powers who came up with the 39 square challenge is working on a new challenge and I think I may participate. Embroidery has been meditation for me. Links to this post. Links to this post. I finished the last of my squares today. Ecckkkk - I am out of a project! For today here is my dragonfly - dragonflies are fairies in disguise. A feather - soft and wistful. My next...

http://roswistful.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

There is so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving:. Off learning new things. Having Thanksgiving dinner with their teachers. Treats me with care. Is truly a partner. South in the warmth. All over the northwest. If not always in touch, always in my heart. Fun to work with. Grateful for each and every person in my life. There are so many things to be grateful for too. Long underwear, a job, a car that runs, laughter, craft and quilting materials,. A warm and comfy bed, my boots, snow, milky way bars,.

I thought that starting a new school year and having Casey and Toby being gone would be the hardest thing. This is Charlie's foot after he fell in our backyard - he was back there trying to chop down two cottonwoods that had started to grow. That was 10 days ago. He had to crawl back around the house to get me - I drove him to the ER and ran his leg into the the door there - it made me very inappropriately laugh hysterically. We both thought/hoped that it was another dislocation. This is the left side of...

For my friend Sue and Margaret too! Okay I am trying to get Charlie's ankle off the top of my page. Since I posted the many legs of Charlie, things have been so hectic I haven't had time to post anything else. Charlie continues to heal but still can not bear any weight on his leg - next week he has another appointment and we are hopeful that he might get to bear just a tiny bit of weight. ros wistful: One Little Word 2014 January

http://roswistful.blogspot.com/2014/03/one-little-word-2014-january.html

One Little Word 2014 January. My word is order. Put this crazy life of mine in order. I have had a word of the year for two years before now. I had no idea it was a 'real' thing. I thought it was just fun. In 2012 my word was act - of course i had nothing to keep me accountable. I definitely hear that word though when i hesitate. In 2013 my word was less - and i started to work on less. This year i found out one little word was a really, real thing and i joined. I have had a few hiccups.

ros wistful: 30Lists: Day 1

http://roswistful.blogspot.com/2014/03/30lists-day-1.html

I am participating in 30Lists. Each morning i receive a prompt and make a list based on it. Day 1 things that make life magical. Just getting to live another wonderful day is magical but i came up with other things to - because it's the weekend i was able to turn it into art. That'll surely surely change come work-a-day Monday! These did not photograph well - bummer. Here are a few details - the longer i worked the more ideas i had - lists are so fun. Especially crossing stuff off them.

ros wistful: 30Lists: Day 2

http://roswistful.blogspot.com/2014/03/30lists-day-2.html

Day 2 - how would you describe yourself to a pen pal. This prompt really had me thinking - what would I tell a pen pal. Probably just basic kinda surface stuff. The me i want people to see me as. Pen pals are probably never gonna really meet you - i could make crazy stuff up. That would be a fun list). The cliché list of who i am as defined by what i am. Since this was too big for one page of my book I cut it up and added my thoughts. Then i thought about the things i would never tell a pen pal.

Finally got the trip around color study put together . i tried many layouts and finally decided that it really looked good anyway i put it. Crazy hard to iron though. I would like to make another one with either. Brighter fabrics of all colors, or. Black and white with bright pastels, or. The nice thing about this block is i can make a batch in the evening after work and it is not a huge undertaking. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). ART PROJECTS FOR KIDS.
