Asheville Janes: The Palmetto Trail
http://ashevillejanes.blogspot.com/2012/04/palmetto-trail.html
Thursday, April 05, 2012. I can't remember how I stumbled on the Palmetto Trail in South Carolina, but I did. Somehow it found me, and things worked out from there. I can't explain it, and won't attempt to, it kind of makes sense to me, and the mysteriousness surrounding it, is good enough. They dropped me off and I made my way through the city, over the bridge and out to my campsite for the night. I stopped by the Trek Concept Store to say hey to Ben Gruber. N: Who are you? Me: I'm Stephen, who are you?

Asheville Janes: THNR
http://ashevillejanes.blogspot.com/2015/05/thnr.html
Friday, May 08, 2015. Just another ride with a bunch of friends. Matthew Busche showed up to ride. It was cool to see him sit in with the group and not try to hammer us all. Super friendly guy. As usual, I hung on as long as I could and then dangled. Once I get dropped, I usually try to stay within sight. Typically, not always, the group will not leave me if they can see me. Asheville Janes: Failure is Success
http://ashevillejanes.blogspot.com/2015/05/failue-is-success.html
Friday, May 15, 2015. On what began as a quest to challenge myself, I was rewarded with the chance to lean heavily on a community of people in order to make it home safely. I road down the parkway, through Bent Creek and up to Bent Creek Gap. I was feeling great. The morning was uneventful. Drinking and eating on schedule. This trip I was trying out some new nutrition. It had been great on shorter rides and I wanted to test out how some liquid nutrition would work for me. I failed at the loop, but I chal...

And I enjoyed it. The temp at the start was just under 80. It was already warm and I knew this would play a factor in my race, but I did not know how much of a factor. On the first climb I got passed by quite a few people. It was blazing hot and I didn't want to overheat. So, I took my time. As we got h...Unfortuna...
