5 Country Cycle Challenge. Tuesday, 17 May 2011. 5 Cycle Challenge to start tomorrow. Ok, now fun is over - it gets serious! Tomorrow the 5 country cycle challenge will start at 8am BST. We will do 4 etapes over the next 5 days and will return to London on Sunday. Etape 1: London to Calais (Wednesday). Etape 2: Calais to Geraardsbergen (Thursday). Etape 3: Geraardsbergen to Maastricht (Friday). Etape 4: Maastrich to Cologne (Saturday). More to follow tomorrow after Etape 1. Damien, Martyn, and Tobias.

5 Country Cycle Challenge. Tuesday, 10 May 2011. Alea Iacta Est - Training is done, now time for tapering. Over this past weekend, the last "bigger" training rides took place. Overall this concludes the training plan I started on March 4. From the originally planned 46 training sessions, only 4 were cancelled and the 2150km cycling plan (and 60km running) was not only achieved but surpased by 80km prior to the last 3 "keep the lights on" trainings planned for this week. Off for now,. Dover - we made it!

5 Country Cycle Challenge. Thursday, 19 May 2011. We are still alive.just. Here are some pictures to prove it. Have arrived in Gerhaardsbergen, having some dinner now. Holmesy has been in the bar since 4.30 and is rapidly consuming water so that he can claim the yellow jersey on the Gerhaardsbergen - Maastricht stage. Tobias appears to have the yellow jersey tattoed on at the moment, however it is unclear whether this has been sanctioned or is his own doing. I also smell a doping scandal. 5 Cycle Challen...

5 Country Cycle Challenge. Friday, 20 May 2011. Stage 3: Accusations could not be proven. After yesterday's stage, there were rumours in the peleton about illegal substances being used to master this "brutal, gruelling, unrelenting" challenge. Of course Tobias did not want to leave those uncomment :-). Below video footage was taken during stage 3. Also fellow riders were asked to show their standpoint. Holmesy, however, seems to have something to hide as his non-responsiveness demonstrates.
