The villager's believe this will keep him safe from being mauled by a wild animal. It seems the boy had a tooth growing on the outside of his upper gum. The tribe believed this was a bad omen and the boy was doomed to be attacked by a tiger or other wild beast. Perhaps all this boy needs is an orthodontist later in life. After a serious, but non-life threatening car accident, Salt Lake City Utah resident Lee Redmond lost 28 feet worth of finger nails.
