Your Mom: March 2012
http://lizhoffman.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 24, 2012. The final eleven days. We celebrated Dad's 95th birthday at the care center on March 10 with cake and ice cream. He loved it! Loved having everyone there, especially loved all the great-grandies who climbed on him and hugged and kissed him. For that brief moment, we had him back- just as he'd been a few months before. Five and a half hours later, he was gone. We rushed back to the care center. Two aid's stood outside the Day Room. "He was just waiting for her to come," t...I rem...

Your Mom: June 2013
http://lizhoffman.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 17, 2013. Today is the day that I am to begin my summer writing. The day has been figuratively circled on my calendar for a couple of months or more. It's my first "real" day of summer- after all the family festivities are over, after Andrew has returned from Helaman's Camp, a Monday- which always seems like a good start day. So why am I terror-struck to click on that icon and begin? Crown 3: Sindy, Tracy, Lisa, Maureen, Laurene and me. Thirty-five years later, with Sindy and Laurene. I am t...

Your Mom: October 2013

Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Balancing the Checkbook- a Trip Down Memory Lane. Returning from Arizona, I scrambled to prepare for a visit from my in-laws and jump back into work. And life. It took a while, but finally, I got my computer repaired. Yesterday, I spent a couple of hours entering data from a pile of receipts, reconstructing how we've spent our money over the last two months. It was a strange and nostalgic chore, entering these receipts:. Long term airport parking (for NJ trip). So much has ha...

Your Mom: July 2012
http://lizhoffman.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 20, 2012. On the Way to Atlanta. With a baby poised to be born at any moment, an invitation to attend her birth, and two stand-by tickets, I'm on my way to Atlanta. Today I made it as far as Salt Lake, before I had to turn back. But my luggage arrived in Atlanta just ten minutes ago. So I'll be on the way again- tomorrow! Uglier- since my curling iron and mascara are hanging out with my pants and shirts. At least I found an extra toothbrush hanging around! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am th...

Your Mom: Saying Goodbye
http://lizhoffman.blogspot.com/2013/11/saying-goodbye.html
Friday, November 8, 2013. It's long overdue, but I wanted to share a few photos of our time in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We visited the "old places"- and topping the list was the farm where Grandpa grew up. I loved spending some time at the shore. Arriving at the cemetery. The family at the cemetery. The three brothers, carrying the coffin. Briana sang "Each Life that Touches Ours For Good" and Dad dedicated the grave. Lunch at Scott and Carol's house. Grandma, with her four children.

You need to kiss like them.". Andrew, that kiss is too aggressive.". The play is fabulous! Well cast, colorful, funny, and just extremely well done by all. Very proud of our boy and all his great friends! Tuesday, October 23, 2012. I just noticed that I have basically nothing listed on my Coming Events!
