Bells & Babies | the raspberry stethoscope

Asymp; Leave a comment. I’m a social recluse and what’s great about Facebook is the fact that at least I get to know the latest tidbits about almost everybody else’s lives. So recently I found that an old high school friend got married, that my kindergarten-to-highschool classmate is having his third child, that another high school friend just recently gave birth to her second child, that a single classmate just went on vacation somewhere, and stuff along that line. It makes me feel… ODD, I guess. Fill i...

Sick of Lectures | the raspberry stethoscope
https://theraspberrystethoscope.wordpress.com/2012/06/11/sick-of-lectures
Asymp; Leave a comment. I literally made myself sick while listening to a very “comprehensive” lecture. Truth be told, the topic was interesting (Care of Post-Kidney Transplant Patients) but it was just too much information for my poor brain. I didn’t return until after he finished the lecture. Which makes me feel like I was “cutting classes”. But it was either that or puking in my seat. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Asymp; Leave a comment. Bo and I were supposed to meet up when I got off the hospital. But as usual, things don’t often go as planned. He was at a Capoeira event (Pro Bono Capoeira lessons for kids at a foundation! I knew he was busy and did not have time to text me but it was past noon and I was hungry, hypoglycemic and cross. I waited for almost an hour before deciding to head home alone. After the event, he went all the way to my house to drop off kisses! And I meant the Hershey ones. Next post →.

To Do or Not To Do. Asymp; Leave a comment. At the recent Post-Grad Conference I attended (on the 2nd day, because I was on-duty on the first day), I was thrilled to have this freebie. My To Do List. It’s just a small “To-Do List” notebook but I positively love it. One of the few things in life I find immensely satisfying is ticking out a box. Besides, I really,. Need something to keep me focused. I have issues regarding time management and making priorities. Asymp; Leave a comment. Whatever works, right?

Black Friday | the raspberry stethoscope

Asymp; Leave a comment. The all-black theme actually worked. (Okay, so my logical self is telling me it’s coincidence and I’m telling logical self. Whatever works, right? Had a grand total of 15 admissions, 2 of which were DTR (direct to room). We had around 4-5 cases of UTIs, a BPPV, and a smattering of relatively non-morbid cases. No Myocardial Infarctions, No Cerebrovascular Diseases. All in all, an A-okay duty. We even had a good night’s rest! No patients from 1 to 5am! Lesson learned. Hopefully.

Poke! | the raspberry stethoscope

Asymp; 1 Comment. Had the first successful IV insertion of my PGI life yesterday. Yes, the FIRST. Because the two other times I tried, I failed. Dismally. I guess you could cut me some slack because those two hands which tested my skills were incredibly swollen. Still, at this level, I should be doing these stuff with my eyes closed. I have an MD degree, for goodness’ sake. And just last March, I was so proud of my IV insertion skills. Sigh Sigh. Sigh.). Larr; Previous post. Next post →. I randomly came ...

Doctors in Black | the raspberry stethoscope

Asymp; Leave a comment. This is coming from the group whose quota seemed to be 30 admissions/duty. So tomorrow, we’re all wearing black! So I know people in medicine are supposed to be rational, logical and evidence-based creatures. But cut us some slack because tomorrow’s duty is going to be skeletal since everyone else will be attending the Post-Graduate Conference (which I had been dying to attend since the moment they placed the poster on the bulletin board! The Doctor Is Sick. Asymp; Leave a comment. Started off with a bit of a stuffy nose two days ago. Yesterday, started assuming the sick role, felt a bit feverish but the thermometer only read 37.3 so I’m pretty sure I was just acting out a bit. My cold is getting worse and as of the moment, I have developed a non-productive cough. The last time I was a bit sick (exactly like this), I let it go so bad (water therapy has its limits!
