Saturday, April 21, 2012. Off to Giverney for a quick coffee - then onto another bike! The map was a little confusing so we found ourselves flying through town, dodging cars, buses, pedestrians and wheelie bins. We tore along the road as cars swerved past us - the air was a little blue as we uttered a few choice words(! Friday, April 27, 2012. On the road again. Thursday was a lovely day getting from Amiens to our B&B in the Champagne region. We decided to visit the Amiens Cathedral before leaving town where we saw the dedication to the Allied Forces for helping to save Amiens during WW1. Once again very moving. Magnificent Cathedral but we felt it needed a good dusting! Whilst there we found Annie and David Slater from Brisbane. Annie went to School with 3 of us! Sunday, April 29, 2012. Last day at the B and B. Today was another day of food. In case you haven't worked it out the food in the country has been amazing, unlike Paris which was a bit poor apart from the croissants which are always good. This morning we sorted our tickets for the train in Reims which is pronounced like a vomit starting with R but does not contain a M. Very strange. More food of course. We managed an exception desert. We can thoroughly recommend profiteroles. Again it is all very moving.

Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Next best was the Carrafours where I dined on a beer, coq a vin, vegs, chocolate mousse for 13 euros, about $16. Can't complain. The alerts by SMS to our phones about conditions tomorrow are a trifle worrying. Wet, windy and very cold. The elderly children and disabled should reconsider going! We decided that if the diggers could last in the trenches, we could probably manage an hour or two in every article of clothing we possess and Sandy Macs rum toddy she is bringing.
