"Hey Siri, Send" — MacSparky
http://macsparky.com/blog/2015/5/hey-siri-send
Hey Siri, Send". May 10, 2015. Hey Siri, Tell Daisy I'm in jail. Bring bail money.". Hey Siri, Send.". It is strange that you have to preface every button press with "Hey Siri" and this behavior is different from the iPhone, which asks you to confirm and you just say "yes" or "confirm". The iPhone method is better. However, if you want to send a text message from your Apple Watch hands free, get ready to say "Hey Siri" a lot. The iDownload blog figured this out before I did and even made a clever video.

Occasionally, I have sensitive things on my Mac's screen and occasionally I leave an office, or conference room, or courtroom and forget to shut the lid on that Mac. You're Mac — MacSparky
http://macsparky.com/blog/2014/11/youre-mac
November 05, 2014. I’ve been doing some speaking over the past few months. They’ve been small corporate-type gigs about technology and productivity. Two events in particular, both at large law firms, are worthy of note. 1 The Vanishing Function Key. So my host calls in the IT guy. He walked in, looked at my set up and said it:. Those were his exact words. He delivered them dripping with judgment. He didn’t say I was using a Mac. He said I was Mac. You need to press Fn-F2. That always fixes it. While this...

The New MacBook — MacSparky
http://macsparky.com/blog/2015/3/the-new-macbook
March 17, 2015. It has been a week since Apple announced the new MacBook. And the reality distortion field has dissipated enough for me to write about it. I'm hardly the first person to make this observation but the introduction of this new MacBook feels a lot like the original MacBook Air. A lot of the same words apply: new, constrained, underpowered, future-thinking. I think one of the important takeaways is that the introduction of the MacBook Air added a third box to the above matrix. No longer w...
