Friday, March 25, 2011. The rear left side brakes; so far so good. Actually rusted and seized. The right side was REALLY painful to remove. The thread on the drum was probably damaged. The line was also rusted and broke very easily. Obviously, this cylinder needs to be replaced. It can be rebuild, but the bore has to be nice and sometime they leak again. Thursday, April 7, 2011. After problems getting parts, wrong parts or non fitting parts, I finally upon completion on the 2 cv. I've worked on different brakes according to the availability of the parts I've received. For ease of reading of this blog, I have grouped the posts by area of work. I have received a used drum to replace the damaged one. Here I am using lapping compound to restore the thread and make the installation of the new ring nut easier. Tuned the brakes shoes to the new drum.
