The Build, Sim Space

My new flight deck will be located on the third floor of my home. Half of the space is my home office and the other side will be dedicated to the complete simulator. The space is rectangular and is approximately 9 feet deep by 14 feet wide. It will be a little challenging squeezing what I need into this space but I think I'll have some room to spare. In this space I plan to add the full flight deck, full scale cockpit and a triple display system for visuals.

Light Emitting Diodes (LED's). I was already excited about the results of the IBL wiring. The panel looks great, especially in the dark, but nothing else works yet. The SYS4X board after wiring. The SYS4X board has a 12 volt power connection and a USB port to talk to the PC. I installed the software (InterfaceIT) on the same computer I plan on running FSX. It just seemed like the best place to put it.

We have completely renovated our company RV. Very cool project that I can go into later. The complete interior has been gutted and replaced. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the three captains chairs. They are currently the wrong color, green, but I plan on changing their color to black. These should work great as I now have a Captain's, First Officer and an Observer chair. These will really look good once they are installed. The one finished looks great.

I plan on building most of the flightdeck off of 5 computers, of which four are the same and one stands by itself. The four are a new version from Aer's Veriton product line. These are 3.2 GHz machines that are VERY inexpensive. I picked them up (brand new from CDW. For $290 a piece. All in all, for the money I could not find a better option!

Bygging av 737 simulator. Jeg har de siste årene hatt stor glede av å bygge en 737 simulator. Selv om jeg ikke er helt ferdig, vil jeg allikevel dele mine erfaringer med andre.
