Pom-Musings: August 2011
http://pomusing.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 27 August 2011. There has been a lot of outrage on the part of the intellectuals of this country that the present India Against Corruption movement has been unconstitutional. However, as a friend. Rightly pointed out,. The legislature towers high above any other institution in this country. They seem to be able to call all the shots at present: How to obtain arrests of anybody (by using the Delhi Police as a scapegoat) in case anything goes wrong? How many Jan Lokpal bills to consider? In their...

Pom-Musings: The Delhi dilemma
http://pomusing.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-delhi-dilemma.html
Tuesday, 3 February 2015. In order to arrive at a decision, I have chosen four parameters on the basis of which I would assign a score to each of these parties. Further I have assigned different weights to these parameters to arrive at a final score and a decision. I have tried my best to reach an objective decision on how these parties would score in each of these parameters. The parameters chosen are:. The weightage attached to each of these parameters is tabulated below:. For Delhi, albeit very loosel...

And we also found all the cheap phones winning the battle hands down! Day 6: To Nagaru. Further killing of time was getting harder and we resorted to Hannibal's phone with its mix of music that was fairly well known to all of us. We hit the end of the playlist and had even started playing Bhaja Govindam. Nagaru was suppos...

Journeys of a wandering mind. Here's hoping that we don't lose sight. Well yes. mindless mugging machines morbid coursework = disaster for us. They just seem to, well, complement each other, dont they? If the coursework isnt morbid, mindless mugging machines wouldnt do any good! N if there were no mindless mugging machines (which is hard, esp for your class, my sympathies :) , life wouldnt be so bad after all would it? Anyway, your closing sentence is the most important. lets hope we dont lose sight.

Vantage Point: Desolation

Journeys of a wandering mind. The huge concrete structure loomed before him…. Braving the putrid stench he reached the single tap at the end of the corridor and turned it. The squeak-squeak of the tap drowned the other noises of the corridor and silenced the voices of discontent in his mind. Precisely two drops of water fell down on the muddy linoleum. The rest of the corridor was drowned the sound of air rushing out through the tap sounded like an ominous death-rattle. Labels: Life at NITK.

Pom-Musings: July 2012
http://pomusing.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 8 July 2012. Farewell Robin, and thanks for all the finishes. Now that the flaring embers that emerged when van Persie called it quits at Arsenal are slowly beginning to cool, I can't help but point out how most fans are poised to offer him a knee-jerk shove off rather than a fitting adieu to a player who most single-handedly kept us in champions league contention and on the right side of the table with regard to Spurs. And Robin finds a lot of former Arsenal players agreeing with him here. Farew...

Friday, 29 May 2015. Philosophy", wrote Somerset Maugham and quoted Haruki Murakami. While I couldn't agree more, the same applies for routine driving. During his daily ride to work, a friend developed this tendency to assign names to certain speed-breakers depending on how kind they were to the fissure that seated him on his bike. These humps developed a personality of their own so that I don't lose mine.". On a bus ride to work and here. When this blog was still incipient). On watching Whiplash, one sc...

Vantage Point: October 2008
http://bhargavaurala-vantagepoint.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Journeys of a wandering mind. Back home after an extremely hectic month and a half at Surathkal. Utterly insignificant yet overhyped club recruitments, a couple of IEEE events, truckloads of quizzes and pots, classes and extra classes, labs and extra labs, records, assignments, quiz tests and the assorted academic torture devices kept me pretty busy. Midsems went moderately well, except quite obviously EMW, handled by the Wigged Wonder. Other things of note:. 8226; Revived my habit of reading comics.

Pom-Musings: March 2013

Saturday, 23 March 2013. The Peacock and the Crane. My trip to Delhi has been eventful to say the least and has provided me with fodder for many a potential blog post However, I'll choose to mark my return, after a considerable hiatus, with a juxtaposition of two places of worship that I happened to visit. On querying the string "Places to visit in Delhi" on Google, I found a tripadvisor link. I found the Gurudwara to be an impressive structure. However, it retained a sense of modesty and simplicity&...

Vantage Point: Long Due
http://bhargavaurala-vantagepoint.blogspot.com/2009/11/long-due.html
Journeys of a wandering mind. The business end of the semester approaches fast and with it come tests, exams, endsems and submissions of all kinds. This post has been delayed for over a month owing to pure laziness, sluggish and at times non-existent internet connection at college among other things. The semester thus far has been in pleasant only in parts - which were too few and too far apart. The rest has been swamped in shortages and scandals of all shapes and sizes.
