Seven day model railroad

Monday, August 26, 2013. British Oak in an APA - The Concept. Here's the idea then. The APA box we are all familiar with. If not, review this other blog posting. A Google search for "British Oak coal disposal point" will reveal some remarkable pictures to whet your appetite. So, a transatlantic layout could be on the cards then. This would make things very interesting at a show. Bored with operating UK trains? People not interested in British Rail Blue? Change it over to DMIR maroon. I like this idea.

Seven day model railroad: Lunch at day one

http://7daymodelrailroad.blogspot.com/2012/11/lunch-at-day-one.html

Friday, November 23, 2012. Lunch at day one. It's 12:15 as I write this post. A scant four hours since I started and as you can see from the picture below the baseboard is as good as done. It is now faced with cork tile and is ready for track laying once the adhesive has set fully. So, what has happened since the last posting? Not as if you can't tell from the picture. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A seven day model Railroad? End of day one. Lunch at day one. A plan, A scheme. Back from the Dead.

Seven day model railroad: December 2010

http://7daymodelrailroad.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 14, 2010. I can't cover the construction of my next model railway on this blog so I've started a new one specifically about small model railway layouts for model railway exhibitions. Its called Small Model Railways. I hope you check it out. Monday, December 13, 2010. A Challenge worth taking? At the Granite City Train show over the weekend I was challenged to re-create Wingetts recycling in 2-Rail O scale by a 2 Rail modeller there. Saturday, December 11, 2010. Well we did it! Another r...

Seven day model railroad: Fail.

http://7daymodelrailroad.blogspot.com/2013/01/fail.html

Friday, January 25, 2013. Spreading the concept out over a period of time. It has to be done on 5 continuous days. Monday was Martin Luther King day. I expected to work on the layout. Below zero temperatures kept me inside. But there was no motivation, no inspiration. Nothing to get me off the couch and get modelling. Questioning my abilities in the hobby. Other people have no problem building layouts. Check back when I'm done feeling sorry for myself. Normal service may be resumed. Thanks Matt. :).

Seven day model railroad: November 2012

http://7daymodelrailroad.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 23, 2012. End of day one. So, with the layout sat in the corner of the room with the glue setting there was nothing more to do for the day there. So I turned my attention to the loading screens. Surprisingly for such in interesting subject for the railway modeller there are precious few photographs for research material out there on the internet. The best pictures I've found on the interent are in this Flickr photostream. There you have it. The first day done. A real mixed day&#4...Still...

Seven day model railroad: And we're off!

http://7daymodelrailroad.blogspot.com/2012/11/and-were-off.html

Friday, November 23, 2012. So at 8:15 this morning with the wife just reversing out of the driveway and slip sliding down an icy 1st Street, I disappeared into the basement. With nothing more than a craft knife, a couple of sheets of 3/4"(approx) expanded white polystyrene sheet and some Loctite Powergrab adhesive. So there you go after no more than 10 minutes of cutting I had all the strips of framing I needed cut up and very little mess to boot. This job was completed by 9:05. Less than an hour to ...

Small model railways: August 2011

http://smallmodelrailwaylayouts.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Yes indeed, this post has been a long time coming for a couple of reasons:. Research. I wanted to make sure I've got my facts straight. I didn't want to unduly offend any of my readers who are modular model railroaders. Believe me, some earlier incarnations of this post were quite offensive. So here we go. I wouldn't say I hate modular layouts but there are certain things that every time I see a layout really annoy me. So in no particular order they are:. Come on here. In th...

4mm scale agonies: December 2009

http://4mmscaleagonies.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

The trials and tribulations of building a 4mm scale model railway layout. Thursday, December 31, 2009. With the old year drawing to a close and a new one appearing over the horizon, it is customary to offer up some sort of resolution. Something to do in the new year. So I might as well jump on the bandwagon, even though it is probably very full with well meaning overweight, unfit, smokers etc: and offer up something. Monday, December 28, 2009. Take a read of it and tell me if you think that if a British ...

4mm scale agonies: It's time...

http://4mmscaleagonies.blogspot.com/2010/05/its-time.html

The trials and tribulations of building a 4mm scale model railway layout. Friday, May 7, 2010. To do something. Don't you think? It's not that I haven't been busy railway modelling. I took my H0 scale layout. To a local show and was very well received. I've been dabbling in T scale still. On top of that I bought myself a new camera. While I was working on some T scale stuff I became aware of the UK outline kits and bits that are being produced in T scale including a Deltic. My T gauge blog. Trainspotter-...

4mm scale agonies: October 2009

http://4mmscaleagonies.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

The trials and tribulations of building a 4mm scale model railway layout. Wednesday, October 21, 2009. No news is not bad news. I feel the pages of this blog are long overdue for and update. So what has happenned in the last month to this layout? Well not a lot really. I'm encouraged to see that Ultrascale charged my credit card for the Class 08 conversion unit I ordered a few months ago. Perhaps that will be here soon and I can get a locomotive running that would really fire things up. My T gauge blog.

More T Please: Back in the saddle (more from the t elevator)

http://more-t-please.blogspot.com/2010/04/back-in-saddle-more-from-t-elevator.html

Sunday, April 25, 2010. Back in the saddle (more from the t elevator). Well, I'm back! I've spent the last few weeks preparing my HO scale layout for a train show. As well as buying myself a new camera. But to be honest my model railroading heart was elsewhere. I would have rather been T scaling. So I did manage to sneak a few minutes here and there over the past few weeks to get something done to the elevator and here it is. Spraying is much better than brush painting don't you think? Lakeside Hobby: Getting beyond the train set

http://lakesidehobby.blogspot.com/2009/12/getting-beyond-train-set.html

I started this blog to share my hobbies with others and to record my progress. View my complete profile. Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Getting beyond the train set. With that all said I am happy to say that we will soon be launching a hands on modeling series called "Getting beyond. The train set". This series will be taught by Ian. If he agrees to it, PLEASE) it will most likely be Saturdays and in the class we will teach some folks to build a "Micro Layout" like Wingett's. Thursday, December 24, 2009.

http://awe-docker.blogspot.com/2009/10/last-use-of-dreadful-pun.html

My fascination with Great Lakes Ore Docks and how to model them. or not, as the case may be. Friday, October 16, 2009. The last use of the dreadful pun. Awe-docker" I thought it was fun to start with when I was getting things established here behind the scenes "Tiny Taconite Trains", my other choice was too much of a mouthful. Any how I'm sure most folks will groan at the dreadful pun but what the heck. The last use of the pun is here. Http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/awe-docker/. Seven day model railroad.
