Otherwise, we will run no where and clueless towards middle of the project and most of the case money burst or worst enough the project abandon for few years. Floor Panel Change with Anti Rust and Black TAR RM1800.00. Rear bonet rusty repair RM 100.00. 4 Labour RM 2000.00.

The 7th Warrior Volvo 245. Body Works In Progress. Volvo 245 - The Sample. Original engine was powered by 2.0 high compresstion engine. I choose to upgrade it with 2.3 soft turbo. This photos was sample of my current 940 turbo unit. The look will be similar. Red Block - Updated 20Apr2011. I still keep original red block trademark by repainting it with red paint. Just using Bottle Spray which cost me RM6.50. Red Block - Updated 20Apr2011. Almost complete red block. Distributor - Updated 20Apr2011.

This car was bought over last December 2010. A friend of mine offer me this unit as he can't afford to spend time and money to restore it. For this stage, I choose to get Mr. Ayooi to do it for me. Last job that i gave him with volvo 740 was excellent job. Thus, i hope he can maintain the same quality. I choose to paint it with black color so that the dirts look not to obvious. People like me seldom sending my car for engine wash. Thus, i hope i make correct choice.

From here on, I will hang up the spanners while I go about gathering the other anciliary parts to complete the swap. Apart for the right kind of distributor and a set of working fuel injectors, the project still needs a power stage or ignition amplifier, fuel pumps, and the rubber plumbing parts for the turbo, intercooler, intake and cooling systems. It’s a shame that when the timing belt cover kept my camshaft sprocket that has been powder-coated blue hidden from view. I have always fancied on of those timing belt covers seen on tuned engines that has holes on them so you can see their bad-ass sprockets. So, out come the cover again. It turned over and came to life for a brief few seconds, then it died and spewed dirty looking oil through the air cleaner box! I tried again after cleaning up all the affected parts and the same thing happened. Looking into the valve cover through the oil filler hole I saw sludge and gunk all over the place. Time for a top overhaul. No carbon on chamber # 4. View of the block.

There were some repairs and maintenance done but they were not exactly “Stage 0” stuff. You should never pick your only daily driver, your work horse, as the project car unless you are willing to go without a car for the duration. You should not have started a project blog either. I had been doing some work on the front suspension over the past couple of weeks, replacing the front wheel bearings and the ball-joints.
