New York Musings: Where I'm at...
http://nyjenn313.blogspot.com/2007/03/where-im-at_21.html
Wednesday, March 21, 2007. Well, I was inspired by Arzhang's post that was inspired by Mike's post. I'm in Atlanta now - for the NCTM conference. Before today was the research Pre-session. I like attending things like this because they take me out of my own little bubble. They make me reconnect with the ideas and passions that inspired me to teach in the first place. So, there is what is going on in my life. Oh, and if you haven't read "The World is Flat" you HAVE to read it. Seriously. We Bought a House!

Sunday, January 30, 2005. Since I have lived in New York and become a teacher here, I have cycled through various campaigns of thought on the ever-present state tests that are constantly being adminstered here. In Idaho, I never really knew the full impact of the "No Child Left Behind Act" and the standardization movement. The amount of micromanagement and legislative acts regarding education in Idaho is miniscule in comparison to the East coast. This is where the problem occurs. Monday, January 24, 2005.

Thursday, March 31, 2005. At the risk of sounding heartless. I am going to briefly weigh in on the Schiavo issue. I think a lot of people are nuts. In one article it said a musician woman who had been outside the hospital said it had "broken her heart." What? Posted by Jennifer Q @ 4:22 PM. Wednesday, March 30, 2005. I love teacher field trips! Everyone knows who I mean. It is huge! So, regarding my earlier comment, about that it is the future school site, that is exactly what I meant. Kaufman studio...

Sunday, August 15, 2004. Bronx Student going to ACI. Ok, since the majority of the people that read my blog went to Albertson, I figure that this will be a good forum for some "leaving for college" suggestions, both for going to C-Town and for just going away to college. I just know there are things I'm forgetting. Posted by Jennifer Q @ 2:29 AM. I am about halfway through my vacation right now. Seattle was EXCELLENT! Ok, that's all for now. Time for laundry. New York Musings: Erik Halpin
http://nyjenn313.blogspot.com/2007/03/erik-halpin.html
Wednesday, March 28, 2007. I just want to say that my cousin, Erik Halpin, or Erik Blake Halpin, is here with me and I am so happy! Posted by Jennifer Q @ 1:33 AM. I know I'm breaking some blog-iquette by posting a comment on a posting that has nothing to do with what I'm asking . . . I am thinking about applying for 2008. not sure I'll get in (they say it's "competitive"- I suspect that, with math, you've had a little bit easier time of it, but I could be wrong). How was the process? Where did you live?

New York Musings: Too Dependent on my computer
http://nyjenn313.blogspot.com/2007/02/too-dependent-on-my-computer.html
Monday, February 26, 2007. Too Dependent on my computer. I had a "I'm too dependent on technology" realization this week. When I started this job, my office-mates told me we use MSN for inter-office chatting. So I started using that and gmail messenger mostly. I didn't even have aol messenger on my work computer, so I forgot it existed. So, I was missing one of those friends, who actually works about 2 minutes from my house. This was the thought process that went on in my head. I should call him. I'm not...
