Thursday, May 29, 2014. It’s been 6 weeks since my final surgery and my commitment to a healthier, stronger me. To keep me honest and humble I am documenting my progress publicly. This has been my greatest area of improvement. After each breast surgery I lost a significant amount of strength. Sunday, September 21, 2014. And then September comes. September has always been a difficult month for me. Anniversaries will do that. But this year it seems to be hitting in a different place. But the memories are always there. Everyday. I let them come, the tears well up, I distract myself. Life goes on. And then September comes and the memories come more often. The tears flow freely. The nights are more difficult. So yes, life goes on and then September comes. I go into a funk. This too shall pass.

We are so proud – yet it is making me feel – I don’t know… lost I guess. My parents seemed much older when I was graduating… I know I am still a Mom, but now it is different. It is hard to explain – I know those who go through it get it – but good grief it all passed so quickly. I am excited for her as I am for all our children. Time marches on. Another page is turned.
