8th Grade Art Blog

8th Grade Art Blog. Wednesday, January 21, 2009. The Andy Warhol challenge. Andy Warhols Campbell’s soup can. Take an everyday product that your family buys and uses and turn it into a work of pop art! Andy Warhol took an ordinary soup can and turned it into an icon of 20th century art. One of the most famous artistic images ever. Can you do the same thing for a packet of pasta, a bar of soap, a tube of toothpaste? Choose your product carefully! You should have at least 4 preliminary drawings in pencil.

Smaller children may not have fine motor skills (ability to use tools and equipment). Think about what equipment you will need them to be able to use! Make a list. Would using cutting tools be a good idea? Prepare a presentation on pattern. What is it? Where does it come from? The lesson must be fun!
