Who Is This Guy? Torie enjoys one of her favorite hobbies about a year before her death in 2013. At right is Al, my favorite hiking buddy. There is Hannah, me, Alison and Peter on a Christmas Day hike in 2011. Both kids are now college grads. That's me in the middle in a 2009 climb up Rainier to celebrate my 50th birthday and Peter's 20th. Peter is behind me in another group. We were a week on the glaciers before we summited.

During my visit I went to see some friends perform at the high school Solo and Ensemble contest. I don't think I've felt quite that old in recent memory. I realized that it has been four full years since I performed in the contest, and kids that I remember being tiny are now performing as seniors in high school.
