The Making of M.O.M.: My treasured friend
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2012/10/my-treasured-friend.html
Monday, October 22, 2012. Almost exactly four years ago a super skinny college girl walked through our front door and into our life. I was uncertain about leaving my babies with a stranger and, though she's never said it, I think she was a little uncertain about me too. I asked a lot of questions, gave a lot of instructions and had high expectations. We functioned in harmony almost immediately. She loved on our kids and I could tell she genuinely cared about them from the start. Weeks rolled into...Over ...

The Making of M.O.M.: So, are you gonna have any more?
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2014/06/so-are-you-gonna-have-any-more.html
Thursday, June 26, 2014. So, are you gonna have any more? We've been asked at least a thousand times if we wanted a big family from the beginning. In short, the answer to that is no. For the most part, Luke and I both grew up as only children. When we were doing premarriage counseling, we only skimmed the surface of talking about the size of the family we would have. Maybe 3, I think, was the number we settled on. Hello, my name is Jessica and I am addicted to newborns. But you know what else I love?

The Making of M.O.M.: Abigail's birth story
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2012/03/abigails-birth-story.html
Saturday, March 17, 2012. Incase you haven't heard, I HAD A BABY! Before my due date, without being induced. Y'all, it's a miracle. I'm serious. Flash forward to Monday morning. I woke up feeling fine. My Mom texted me and asked if she could bring dinner. Do I ever say no to that? She asked what I would like and I, jokingly said "hospital food.". And that they'd pass. Share their cookies or dessert? Never Share the kennel cough? I called my OB's office. Since my uterus is so floppy. He'd told me to call ...

The Making of M.O.M.: You are able. You are enough.
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2014/04/you-are-able-you-are-enough.html
Friday, April 4, 2014. You are able. You are enough. I started this post a week and a half ago. Today, I sit back on my own couch, surrounded by 8 clingy kids again.*. I sit here on the couch in California, Evelyn napping beside me and Ashlee locked onto a movie, a whole country away from 6 of our kids and my amazing husband. Ash, Evelyn and I flew here to be with Amanda. As she gives birth to her second child. She. Was due on Sunday. Should be having her baby any day now. Right this very second. The tho...

The Making of M.O.M.: My sweet Paigey
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-sweet-paigey.html
Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Yesterday morning, my sweet friend Paige ran into the arms of her beloved Savior. While my heart grieves so heavily I know she is worshipping the Great I Am. Our children are in shock, I believe. She was a huge part of our lives, spending many nights curled up on our couch with a child or eating M&Ms with me late into the early morning hours. May her life be a fragrant offering to the Lord Almighty. And please, Jesus, be near. Posted by The Beaver Bunch. July 25, 2012 at 11:14 AM.

The Making of M.O.M.: Side Braid: Fail
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2014/06/side-braid-fail.html
Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Rumor has it that at their wedding she took off her shoes and went barefoot at their reception. At the country club. Classy. Point being, I've never been a trendy person. Fashion was always something I sort of noticed but never really practiced myself. Partly because being fashionable seems to me to take a lot of work. And let's face it, my daily life is enough work. Amen. I have a small box of jewelry but it literally never. Sort of like my showering schedule. Rare-i-ty. In my he...

The Making of M.O.M.: Beaver Family November 2012 Update
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2012/11/beaver-family-november-2012-update.html
Thursday, November 8, 2012. Beaver Family November 2012 Update. As most of you know, in July we lost a close family friend, Paige. When we sent out our September newsletter, our hopes were to take a Short Term trip (3 - 12 months) with Africa Inland Mission to Southern Kenya. (If you missed our September Newsletter, you can read it by clicking here. That’s the long of it. The short of it is this:. Our family needs time to heal. Even still, this is a hard newsletter to write. We want to be people who ...

Monday, April 5, 2010. Our Easter.in pictures. If you came here because of the title expecting to see beautifully posed children in their Easter attire and a nice, wholesome photo of our family.well, you should know me better than that by now. Shame on you. We did have a great Easter at church and then spent an awesome Easter afternoon with family. However, when family photo time came around it was less than awesome. If you could have been. A fly on the wall. The picture than being in. You know, the perf...

The Making of M.O.M.: My Acceptance Speech, the final draft
http://themakingofmom.blogspot.com/2014/09/my-acceptance-speech-final-draft.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. My Acceptance Speech, the final draft. I would like to thank you all for coming today. Honestly, I'd say that I'm shocked and in awe that you'd come all this way to award me with such a title, but I'm not surprised. I mean, it's not every day that you happen upon a woman like me. The things you say about me are, indeed, true. I am so deserving of this title that when the awards committee called me, I laughed a little and then wondered what had taken so long. Think fast and st...
