Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Saturday, 16 March 2013. Recently we've been doing a lot of work to our house as we have big plans this year to remodel our downstairs. Therefore I've been curbing my spending but obviously I can't stop completely when beauties like these catch my eye. First off is this cute and very well detailed feather brooch. It's quite a big brooch which I wouldn't normally go for but it is so well made and so realistic I had to have it. Next up was my fav...

Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Monday, 9 June 2014. Today is my day off work and I'm having a bit of a "me" day at home. The weather's miserable so have decided to spend the day catching up with my blogging, getting a bit creative with my sketchbook and spring cleaning my wardrobe. First task is underway writing this post on my much neglected blog! I have a few select old books on display in our living room which are my particular favourites. One of my book wardens. To creat...

Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Thursday, 19 September 2013. We accidentally renewed our National Trust membership. This was mostly due to my inability to read the renewal letter properly and stupidly assumed that if we didn't do anything it would just be cancelled if we didn't renew. How wrong I was! Snowshill Manor was owned. From 1900 to 1951. Mr Charles Paget Wade. We had an interesting talk from one of the garden volunteers about Charles' garden design and flower prefere...

Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Friday, 12 July 2013. Firstly I have to apologise for not posting for so long, it's been a hectic few weeks! A few years ago I read what soon became one of my favourite books. "How the Girl Guides Won the War" by Janie Hampton is a true story about the amazing actions of Girl Guide troops during World War II. I was astonished to read about how they kept morale up in bomb shelters and concentration camps where there was little or no hope. My nex...

Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Wednesday, 2 October 2013. A few weeks ago I had the great luck to be able to tag along again with Clare from Second Hand Rose. To the wonderful vintage celebration that was The Goodwood Revival 2013. Ratty was packed, outfits were picked and canned cocktails were cooled. This was my 3rd year of going to the Revival and as usual we had amazing fun people watching. Odd socks without the socks! Mr B Gentleman Rhymer. I had to have a wander about ...

Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Saturday, 29 December 2012. Merry Christmas one and all! A while ago I mentioned the Christmas box swap I was taking part in courtesy of The Curiosity Project. A few days before Christmas I received a card through the door saying I'd missed a parcel for the attention of The Curiosity Project and got very excited! I hot footed it to the post office and opened up this shiny gold present. Here are all the lovely goodies packed inside. Whilst uploa...

Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Thursday, 23 May 2013. As I have a love for all things old I thought I'd do a quick post about some of the things that I love that have been passed down to me from my family. When I became a Vintage dealer most of the items I stocked were, in some way, family heirlooms and I always liked the fact that they had a history and sometimes a nice story. These jet beads were my nanny's and it's thought they date from the Victorian era. Ta ta for now!

So in tribute to that (and also partly to do with me being Scottish! Here's my post about my favourite fashion must have . tartan! Wool, Wombling and General. Ramblings of a Worcester Womble! Monday, 4 August 2014. In honour of this decision I recently made a trip over to Northampton to have a day of fun at a local fibre festival called Fibre East 2014 with my mum and sister. They both love to knit so when my sister found out about the event we all had to go and see what was on offer. It was a thankfully lovely sunny, if a bit too hot, day and the event was being held in a few marquees in a school grounds. The event had some great k...
