Single Brown Mom: November 2012
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Make Time for Yoga. I found this on Facebook, in one of the many. Yoga pages I subscribe to, a reminder that I needed to make time for some of the priorities in life, like taking care of myself. I haven't done yoga in two weeks. Okay, I plead busy and my period. Yoga isn't discouraged when it's the time of the month, so I was back again at square one. Have you made time to take care of yourself today? Links to this post. Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

Single Brown Mom: Dying
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2014/01/dying.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Monday, January 27, 2014. My paternal uncle died more than a week ago. He had been in the hospital for more than four months, and we had all been prepared for his dying. When the life force ebbed from him, it did not come unexpectedly. At the wake, I refused to look at my uncle in his coffin. I am afraid of dead people, even relatives, so I decided I'd like to keep the memory of him as I remember when I was 18, and he was strong and vibrant. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Single Brown Mom: August 2012
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Thursday, August 30, 2012. Soaring high: Yellow-billed falcon by doc. They say when you want something badly, the universe will conspire to make it happen. One of my mini-dreams has come true. I've always wanted to go back to feature writing. It was something I used to do many years ago for the now-defunct Pinoycentric (some of my posts have been archived here. And then I stumbled onto Mariel Jimenez's blog. I kept checking the ad posted on a friend's Facebook profile, until this...

Single Brown Mom: What's Cooking for the Holidays
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2012/12/whats-cooking-for-holidays.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Sunday, December 30, 2012. What's Cooking for the Holidays. A cookbook as old as I am: The Good Cook: Pasta. What I like most about coming home, wherever "home" happens to be, is getting the chance to cook for family. I've always been the frustrated chef in the family, the one who had always dreamed of having her own restaurant ( Ratatouille. Grilled baby back ribs/pork belly. Garden salad with Christmas ham. Homemade pork and beans. Soda and pineapple-orange juice. It would be g...

Single Brown Mom: July 2012
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Monday, July 23, 2012. It had to happen. After weeks of working at the laptop, typing furiously to submit my articles on time, my hands gave up on me. It started several weeks ago, on my cousin's wedding. My fingers started to feel tingly and prickly. I remembered the Gloria Diaz commercial for Neurogen-E and made a mental note to get some the next day. A few days on them and I felt better, but a week after, the tingly, prickling feeling returned. One day, then Once Upon a Time.

Single Brown Mom: September 2012
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Monday, September 24, 2012. No Longer the TV Snob. Josh Charles and Julianna Margulies in The Good Wife. Here's a confession: I don't watch a lot of TV. I used to think watching TV was a waste of time. Except for the news, I only watched documentaries that I thought were interesting, cooking shows like Iron Chef. And a little talk show every now and then (like Larry King Live. I started with Gossip Girl. I must say I came onto Gossip Girl. Rather late, maybe because for some time...

Single Brown Mom: May 2012
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Saturday, May 5, 2012. For the love of books. Coming home to Cebu, the family's headquarters or base for the last 10 years, I renewed acquaintance with the books of my childhood and teenage life. Books I read when I was 12 when the family still lived in Mindanao. Paperbacks I read back in college, some I bought from Booksale across my dormitory, some of which I never got to finish reading because I was impatient to create my own life story. My English teacher didn't want me to do...

Single Brown Mom: March 2013
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Sunday, March 3, 2013. My life, as I've known it for the last 11 months, is changing tomorrow. Tomorrow, I am going back to working full time in an office. I am very excited about it! I'm excited to be working in an office again. I'm excited to be dressing up for work. And I'm excited to an employee again who gets paid twice a month. Going back to full-time work was among my many intentions. And being your own boss have their rewards, such as. Working when you feel like it. I wou...

Single Brown Mom: May 2014
http://singlebrownmom.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Live Love. Laugh. Learn. Thursday, May 8, 2014. Pain has been a guest in my home for a few weeks now. The visits were few and far apart in the beginning. Pain would stay for an hour or two. And then, without my noticing, it started staying overnight. I would wake up and find it in my bed, wondering how it got into the house. I didn't remember handing it the key. Maybe I hadn't locked the door behind me and it had come in. I haven't had any conversation with Pain lately. My physical therapist tells me...
