Wednesday, 31 December 2014. 2014: A Year of Making. As I sit here surrounded by brown boxes and brown packing material, looking at empty walls and bare furniture, I can't tell you how good finishing this post felt. Such pleasure. Look, pretty things! January: a fimo bead necklace. A winter inspired crocheted cushion. A scarf for John. And some hama bead coasters. February: a scarf for Angus. And some more coasters. March: my winter embroidery. A pair of crocheted curtain tie backs. And a peg bag. And it...

If you're visiting from Magic Onions - hello! 18 June 2013 at 17:49. Beautiful photos. I love being out in the garden first thing, but hardly ever seem to find the time to do it. A cup of tea always sorts me out, especially if I get to drink it sitting down and while its still hot! 18 June 2013 at 21:46. 19 June 2013 at 20:03. 7 July 2013 at 03:46. Another...

http://oakbeforeash.blogspot.com/2013/09/indigo-and-shibori.html
Sunday, 22 September 2013. Portland handspun, dyed with apple bark. From left to right. Apple dye twice dipped with indigo, elderberry dye once dipped with indigo. apple dye once dipped with indigo. Yesterday was spent with Annabel Wilson from Townhill Studio. Learning a bit about shibori and indigo dyeing. I say a bit because I'm pretty sure there is much much more to learn and understand. It's magical! A textile artist who pots? 26 September 2013 at 16:50. Everything is so gorgeous! It means A LOT!

oak before ash: beside the sea
http://oakbeforeash.blogspot.com/2013/10/beside-sea.html
Saturday, 26 October 2013. It's been ages since I've been in this space. Where have I been this time? Well I've been awarded a bursary from b-side (the arts company who delivered the cultural Olympiad in Weymouth and Portland in 2012) to develop my textile work. Exciting huh? So after Somerset Art Weeks and my last ceramics exhibition I spent a week on Portland meeting other artists and attending the b-side symposium. oak before ash: celebrations
http://oakbeforeash.blogspot.com/2013/06/celebrations.html
Monday, 17 June 2013. Recently there has been the busy mix of my youngest turning 4, (4! How did that happen? Father's Day and lots of busy family stuff in between. Both of these special days were celebrated with a trip to Swanage. On the steam train, armed with buckets and spades and high hopes for the sun to stay out. The sun did did us proud, going by train made it even more special and now we're finding piles of sand everywhere - we seem to have brought an awful lot of Swanage home this trip! Another...

Two + Two ( A simple life ): Missing! (for a while at least...!)
http://two-add-two.blogspot.com/2014/01/missing-for-while-at-least.html
Thursday, 16 January 2014. For a while at least! Indeed, I temporarily went missing in the latter half of last year! Not actually you understand, but virtually, well bloggerly anyway. I know, it happens, for whatever reason, and although not a week has gone by where I haven't felt a teeny bit of guilt for my lack of contribution, it was as easy to stop, as this evening it was easy to start again. So I guess I'll just come and go with the wind. Or hopefully when I've got something to share! This is the pl...

Two + Two ( A simple life ): May 2013
http://two-add-two.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, 25 May 2013. We're off to France for half term. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine. Or at least a few degrees warmer than Blighty. Whatever the weather though it'll be good to have a break, to escape the day to day, to see new things, eat good food, drink good wine (well, cheap, good wine) and be together. Enjoy your week, whatever you're getting up to. Links to this post. Saturday, 18 May 2013. Am working on a little commission for a friends cat-mad daughter. Links to this post. Well ...
