Friday, 25 November 2011. San Francisco (part IV). Second session of photos of San Francisco. The cable car museum is very interesting (and free). It's quite impressive to see that still today, the cable cars are operated from this point. There is also an interesting part with historical pictures of after the 1906 earthquake. Cable car museum, from which the 4 cable car lines are operated. Cable car museum (of course, it's an old sign :-) ). Not that the park is not good (it is! I would trust this sign!

Sunday, 29 January 2012. As usual with the transition periods, I have forgotten about updating the blog ;-). So, I'm back in the North for a few months! Right now, the plan is to stay here and work at CERN until March, then go back to Joburg for a month, and come back here again. As expected, it's cold up here, but it's OK . the first days, after sunny Joburg, were hard, but now I got used to the cold. We haven't had snow in Lausanne or Geneva yet, but I'd like to have some! Sunday, 19 August 2012. Wow, it's been so long I last posted here! I guess I should have posted something about Chicago, but I'll skip that for now - maybe later I'll do it, if I find the time . Today's post is about Switzerland. We've been living here several years now, but we barely know the country, and yet it is not very large! So, recently, we took the car and went in the Valais canton, first to Martigny and the Grand-Saint-Bernard pass (border with Italy), and today to Lac de Moiry, close to Sierre.

Friday, 30 December 2011. Christmas in Summer (contains a trip to Cape Town! This year, Laura and I spent Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere, so . in summer! It's quite disturbing . Long days, usually sunny and warm, but still with some Christmas decorations in the shopping malls, it's strange. But we do appreciate it! This is actually from Grenoble, so, it will travel a long way back to Lausanne ;-). Direction : O.R. Tambo Int'l Airport! We had a flight to Cape Town at 7am :-). Day 1 : Cape Peninsula.
