Jammer genoeg was de cockpit net te kort om een instructeurs station in te richten en werd besloten deze met effectief 15cm te verlengen. De bovenzijde was een lastig begin, maar gelukkig kregen wij de slag te pakken. We zijn zowel links als rechts al over de helft met het aanbrengen van de aluminium beplating. Eindelijk werd de onderzijde bereikt, doch er werden nog vele honderden popnagels verbruikt. De cockpit werd horizontaal geplaatst en goed afgetekend. Zie hier het resultaat. Het verticale hoekpro...

De nieuwe hoofdbalken worden op de juiste maat gesteld. Deze worden later verbonden met de rompbalken van de cockpit-shell. De eerste dwarsbalk voor het frame. Eerst even hechten voordat we verder gaan. De nieuwe multiplex vloerplaat wordt op maat gemaakt. De ophanging van het frame wordt hier gehecht voordat we het kunnen aflassen. Onze beroemde rolmaat in actie. Aan het hechten van de frame-delen lijkt geen einde te komen. Het moment om het frame af te lassen is aangebroken.

De ophanging, vervaardigd door de vorige eigenaar, moest worden verwijderd. De nieuw te bouwen ophanging moet gaan dienen om de neus te koppelen aan het motion-platform. De ophanging van het landingsgestel is nog zichtbaar, echter ook deze steunen moet worden afgevlakt. De neus wordt tijdelijk door een houten balk ondersteund. De profielen worden gesteld en middels kleine lassen verbonden om later het werkstuk af te lassen. Nu was het tijd om het neusframe in de menie en de definitieve kleur te schilderen.

In het instructeur station worden 2 TFT-monitors geplaatst. Hier ziet u de aluminium constructie welke de monitors zal dragen. De beugel kan naar beneden draaien voor onderhoud. De positie van de monitors wordt bepaald. De instructeur krijgt een klein buro en dit is vervaardigd van aluminium plaat en hoekstrip. De betimmering van het buro is geplaatst op aluminiumhoeklijn. Alle houten delen kunnen altijd worden losgeschroefd voor onderhoud. Wij hebben fasteners geplaatst op de aluminiumstrips.

Op deze plaatst wordt de netspanning van 230VAC aangevoerd en middels 4 automatische zekeringen verdeeld over alle afname punten. Om alle voedingen, relais, electronische panelen en extra stopcontacten een plaats te geven wordt in de gehele cockpit DIN-rails geplaatst. Zo ook rechts van het instructeur station en in het station onder het buroblad. Zonder een goede elektrische voorziening kan een complexe simulator niet werken. Tevens wordt de verlichting van de hal straks bedient vanuit de simulator.
