On the Road to Renaissance: Succulence

http://www.aadaigle.blogspot.com/2009/03/succulence.html

On the Road to Renaissance. We've slowly been adding to our repertoire of succulent plants over the past few years. Let's face it: they're pretty cool. Sometimes I have to resist taking a big, juicy bite out of their fat, water-storing leaves. If nothing else, they are great examples of adaptation (read here. To learn more about their water-saving features). Here are our latest additions:. Labels: Home Sweet Home. You guys have the best plants! I love these additions. March 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM.

On the Road to Renaissance: Green at Heart

http://www.aadaigle.blogspot.com/2009/03/green-at-heart.html

On the Road to Renaissance. Since Andrew has started working for Topiarius. I've noticed a different rhythm to our home: one that is more in tune with and accepting of the seasons. Each season commands a respect, has something to offer and has something to prepare us for (if nothing else, the next season). A week or so ago, I found Andrew poring over a catalog of plants and seeds, after which he excitedly (and cautiously) rattled off his plans for our back porch this. Love you both,. Indeed. Your por...

On the Road to Renaissance: Sow what?

http://www.aadaigle.blogspot.com/2009/04/sow-what.html

On the Road to Renaissance. Well, I may not be able to sew, but we can try our hand at sowing. Last night Andrew transferred some carefully selected seeds into a seed starter "greenhouse". Basically a divided plastic tray with a cover). Some of these seedlings should start to sprout in as little as one week! Then they will be transferred into peat pots. That can later be planted directly into the soil. I am becoming more and more convinced that there will be no room to sit on our porch this summer.

On the Road to Renaissance. Where Winter Meets Spring. My dear brother never fails to mention how fantastic the weather in Denver is (especially after a particularly long spell of dismal Chicago grayness) . And as much as it pains me to admit it sometimes, he's right. Tonight we head out to the land of mountains and sun, to embrace a Spring more mature than ours, and to steal a few more moments of Winter's most exhilarating activity (see below). Elsa, get your booties on. here we come! Dancing in his hea...

On the Road to Renaissance: October 2008

On the Road to Renaissance. O hushed October morning mild,. Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;. Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,. Should waste them all. The crows above the forest call;. Tomorrow they may form and go. O hushed October morning mild,. Begin the hours of this day slow. Make the day seem to us less brief. Hearts not averse to being beguiled,. Beguile us in the way you know. Release one leaf at break of day;. At noon release another leaf;. One from our trees, one far away. CD every time we c...

The Johnsons: Henrik's 9th Month

http://branden-rachel-johnson.blogspot.com/2012/04/henriks-9th-month.html

Saturday, April 28, 2012. Despite dealing with all of Henrik's ailments, we've had a lot of fun. Two weekends were spent at the Peckenpaugh cottage relaxing and enjoying valuable time with Nana and Papa as well as with Great Grandparents. Easter was spent in Kalamazoo. We enjoyed being at our home church for a lovely Easter service and spirited egg hunt. We also had a lot of fun with Grammy, Grampy and Auntie Jenna, going out to dinner and eating our Easter candy! XOXO We love you Henrik!

Our Life in the Windy City: May 2010

Our Life in the Windy City. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. IMDB and other miscellany. Maybe not. In that case, check it out and read on. A few weeks ago I checked back in and realized that (as I had joked. About in that post), Luke's profile has been updated to include a bio! Still no pictures, but that's alright with me. I'm so curious to know who updated his bio, because it wasn't either of us. As far as what else has been going on in our lives:. And we'll also be able to see this cute family. Http:/ tierney...

Our Life in the Windy City: A New Venture

http://tierneyhalvorsen.blogspot.com/2011/03/new-venture.html

Our Life in the Windy City. Saturday, March 19, 2011. Well, friends, I have something of an announcement to make. I started a baking blog! I have no idea what will come of it, but it's something that I've been wanting to do for a while now, and have been working on for a few weeks. I wanted to make sure that I was really committed to it before I let anyone know about it, so I have been waiting until I have a few posts up. Anyhow, without further ado, my baking blog. Good for you, Alli!

Giving Back: September 2011

http://daiglesgivingback.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Sharing with others the joys we receive. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Alexander's review of his day as said at the dinner table:. Anne (imaginary wife) went out and got a new gun today. It is a special gun that she got for the chipmunk (living under our back deck). It is a 'deleter' that she can point at the chipmunk and when she squeezes it the chipmunk turns into nothingness, it's all the way gone. It will be very helpful to have.".
