Friday, October 18, 2013. These were all from the day I moved in. Kitchen and dining area (chair and table left from previous tenants- chair is now gone, table is now my desk.but I won't ruin any more surprises). Living room (couch and table also left- couch kept but modified, table gone). View into sink area/bathroom (which is in the bedroom). View of other side of previous area into closet (which is bigger than some rooms I've lived in- no great pic here sadly- but it was just bare in there).

Wednesday, February 19, 2014. It's hard to believe that my girl's turning one,. That a whole year has passed, a whole year is gone. I'm not sure how I feel, not sure what to think,. She's no longer a baby, but a toddler on the brink. Of walking and talking and jumping and running,. She's already gorgeous, already stunning. She knows lots of words and can point to her head,. Thursday, August 1, 2013. Two weeks from yesterday (so August 14) I will be leaving the great state of Virginia to move to Austin, Texas. See Texas themed gifts:. Monday, October 21, 2013. The outside project #1. My apartment from the outside- Mine is the one on the top right corner (front window- bedroom, side window, kitchen). My first project- making this free couch livable. (couch you are so ugly you should be ashamed of yourself). Here it is all tucked in nicely in the couch! Saturday, November 9, 2013. I've been wanting to make one of those jewelry hanger-frame things, and for a few weeks have been stopping at every Goodwill I see (which there are A LOT here) in order to find the perfect frame. Last week, I found one, and so today I set out to finally put it together! My ingredients: frame, fabric, wire mesh, and foam board (so I could push my studs into it). I cut the foam board to fit in the frame using a dull steak knife and cutting board- it did the trick! Simple templat...

Friday, January 31, 2014. I want to see you be brave. So it's been awhile since I posted here - almost six months - and our girl is almost one. One whole year. Already she has such a personality - she's funny and friendly and easy going and beautiful - and as her parents, we couldn't be more in love. As her first birthday approaches, I've been thinking about what I want for her, in life, and there's a song lyric that has stuck in my head every since I heard it - I think it speaks to what I want for her.

Sunday, October 7, 2012. Tonight I attended a Canadian thanksgiving in honor of their holiday tomorrow. We sang the Canadian national anthem, answered Canadian themed trivia, and ate delicious food.
