連續看了三篇馮應謙的文章，關於梁詠琪 (Gigi)，Twins和王菲，本想一併回應，但沒時間做Gigi和Twins的資料搜集，而自己比較熟悉王菲，故只是回應 女性主義與王菲 一文。 女性歌手往往被定性為 軟弱 和依賴男性，近年 被傷害 、 被踐踏 的女歌手形象可算是充斥市場 [8]. 一九九四年，王菲憑著王家衛執導的電影 重慶森林 而聲名大噪，雖然她任性、行為古怪而且喜歡對抗，但很多歌迷因此而將之視為模仿對象 [14]. 雖然她的首張個人大碟 王靜雯 中的主打歌 無奈那天 非常受歡迎，但仍被某些樂評批評她是土包子。 那時候，她以一首 容易受傷的女人 建立起自己的事業，這歌曲亦反映了香港女性現存的態度 [23]. 一九九三年的 十萬個為什麼 及 執迷不悔 之本地銷量超過三十萬張，成績在這個只有六百萬人口的地方來說確是十分卓越。 一九九四年她推出歌曲 討好自己 ，公開表示 我唱歌 是去滿足自己而不是去滿足市場 [39]. 討好自己 現實逃避 不知不覺 抽離. 討好自己 現實逃避 不知不覺 飄離. 討好自己 作曲 填詞 王菲 編曲 竇唯. 我有很多問題 解決不了的問題 我缺乏耐性 沒甚麼事能讓我滿意.
