Peer Recovery in Motion. Mental Health Education Groups. Amarillo Area Mental Health Consumers(AAMHC) was formed in 1996 by a group of peers who were. Interested in learning more about empowerment and advocacy. In the year 2002, we became a satellite organization. Providing peer support services under the auspices of Texas Mental Health Consumers, a non-profit out of Austin. As the organization evolved we became an independent peer support recovery center funded by the Department of State Health Services.
