Just got back from the 8th annual Art Outside at Apache Pass. The music and art this year was incredible – I had such an amazing time! This was our first year attending Burning man. I am still processing what happened that week, what an amazing time to say the very least. This was also my first time shooting with a Holga. TX is an amazing festival where different street bands and marching bands come together from around the country and perform for free in public spaces. Sooo all those epic night shots… are now just a memory and some faint outlines on a strip of FujiChrome.

Hybrid Collaboration was commissioned by Ingenuity Festival in 2012 and is an interactive sculpture that changes color through text messaging. The base of the sculpture is cast aluminum and the flowers are cast glass. Each flower has a high-power RGB LED beneath it that changes color based on the text messages. Viewers are instructed to send text messages with the words #red, #blue, #green, #purple.etc. and once the sculpture receives three of the same word it changes color. Check the BLOG to find out!

Was a public event where over one hundred participants were able to experience the sensation of floating freely through space as if weightless. With a slight kick off the ground, heights of thirty to sixty feet were possible. Was intended as a very accessible art event, something that anyone who happened to be there could experience. The idea for this sculpture began with a personal narrative about inspiration and creative energy, and was influenced by dreams and images that represent the concepts in my mind. Saturday, June 05, 2010. Found this while organizing today, a poem I wrote when climbing Desolation mountain in Washington:. Such a sense of relief when I saw my han-shan campground. Halaluja and thanks to the world! Legs and lungs burning the last mile, through the alpine fields, a hint of autumn. Ice tinkles, drops splatter the cover on my pack. Sterno didn't work, warm cocoa and chocolate bar for dinner,. My leg shakes as a crouch in the cold. Nearly 9pm and the ice still comes down. Check it out here:.
