United Methodist Campus Ministry. I have completed my second to last seminary course. Yeah for me! So good to have that over and done with. It was a good course. Now that that course is behind me I’m looking forward to what is next. I’m very excited about the next – and LAST – class I’ll be taking at Fuller. The course is ML500 Teamwork and Leadership with Shelley Trebesch. I am realizing that I am overwhelmed by the administrative demands of ministry and our household. Not sure what to do about it, ...

Wednesday, December 24, 2003. I wonder how many Christmas Eve services will be using this as their text tonight? Think about that the next time you hear O Holy Night. Seriously. I wanted a cosmic nativity scene complete with a dragon. If we're to take the angels' encounter with the shepherds seriously, then this is no "silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright." On the contrary, it is a night of supreme rejoicing: "Glory to God in the highest! Ezra Boggs has written a column called. We are dee...

Monday, February 11, 2008. I'm going to try to get back into the habit of posting the Deuteronomy study we're doing at the Rock. So here goes. In an ancient suzerainty treaty, such as Deuteronomy, the benefits and consequences (or "blessings" and "curses") of obedience or disobedience are a significant section of the treaty. Pay attention to the use of the word "if" in this chapter. Why might this be significant? What do you observe in these blessings? What areas of life do they entail?

Tuesday, February 12, 2008. So what happens now? I don't have a good answer for this question. No matter how often it's asked of me. Many changes have occurred over the past few months that have put at a doorstep of uncertainty.Â. So I'll share what I do know with certainty. Three and a half years ago I began the spiritual and academic journey of seminary. Back in December that journey ended, and I graduated with a Master of Divinity with an academic focus in Old Testament studies. So what happens now?

Tuesday, October 23, 2007. In these laws of worship, going back to chapter 12, weâ ve moved from talking about idolatry to a single location of worship to voices that distract us from God to food. What connections might God be making between all these things? Why is it significant that God would put limits on what animals can be eaten, and what does that mean for us as Christians?
