Our family tales and updates for those near and far! Friday, August 13, 2010. New Job New Tradition. I* got a new job! Aaron's job is going well. They are keeping him busy. The new tradition was this gift bag that I bought today at the store. I think it's very important for couples to continue to pursue each other after marriage. The idea of a date night always sounded appealing to me so I decided to give it a go. So, I put together a goody bag full of candy and a movie that looked scary from the red box.

My Stick Family from WiddlyTinks.com. Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Our Independence Day weekend included lots of time spent with family and friends. We started off the weekend with a trip to see our handsome godson, Xander. He's getting so big! We also had a HUGE get together with Mark's dad's side of the family. His grandparents were Grand Marshals in the parade on Monday morning, and all 6 of his grandmother's siblings were able to make it in to see that. What a wonderful weekend that went by way too fast!

There are definitely things that I appreciate about it now that I never paid much attention to when I lived here. Here's a few pictures that I took around our yard today. Four new kittens to love : ) Goldie III, Gray Ball II, Chip, and Theodore. The windmill in front of our house. Our dog Bear. I love him so much! An old wagon wheel that's in our yard.

We went to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. I wish we would have had more time for some of the tours like mission control, but it was raining so hard they had to cancel a lot of them and then as you can imagine, the wait time was crazy! We made some patriotic rice krispy treats! Amanda trying to keep the sun off!

I can finally breathe a sigh of relief because finals are done around this house for both Mark and I! I think we're both ready to move on though. I'm back at work and starting my last year of school, and Mark has been gone a lot finishing up his thesis work before he has to start writing. We had a lot of fun during Labor Day weekend. My sister came to Mark's grandparent's cabin with us as well as some extended family. It was good to get away for a few days!
