The remnants of a fort off the coast of Aruba that was used as a depot for gold mining deposits during the 17th century. A patio restaurant surrounded by a lake at a resort in Aruba. Very interesting rocks piled up on the beach of Aruba.and conveniently positioned in front of a large rock formation with an opening leading directly down the ocean. A party boat making its way back toward the island as the sun quickly sets in the background. A long abandoned lighthouse on the shore of Aruba.

6th New York Cavalry Monument. Keeping watch from the safety of the high ground overlooking the battlefield. Several square miles that were covered by thousands of soldiers, horses and artillery for 3 bloody days. Where there was once war, there is now peace. Incredible to realize these same rocks were sitting here during the intense fighting of the Civil War. 100 years later, these cannons still maintain a powerful presence. 2016 SmugMug, Inc.
