How much do you charge? It always depends on how many sheep you have and how far I have to travel. Generally, I am very reasonable. I will negotiate; I don’t want price to be an issue. I shear sheep. For some shepherds that is enough qualification to hire me to shear their sheep. For others, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I began shearing about 11. Years ago on my family farm in western Massachusetts. I slowly began shearing for others in the area, and in 20 11. I sheared 7,500. Sheep for over 300. Farms all over New England and New York. I spent the winter of '08 and '09 shearing sheep in New Zealand, to improve my skills and experience. What You Can Expect From Me.

Every industry has its diversity, but I find that the sheep industry (at least in the Northeast USA) is especially diverse. Now think about sheep farming. Reasons people own/raise sheep. I'll list a few in no particular order that come to mind:. To exhibit/compete at fairs. To sell wool/wool products. To raise your own wool/meat. To keep land open. To have a tax write off.
