Asian American Women On Leadership: can't hurt to ask

http://aawolblog.blogspot.com/2009/03/cant-hurt-to-ask.html

March 15, 2009. Can't hurt to ask. As I embark on this new territory, I am recovering pieces of myself that I left behind in my life journey. I’m learning to love and accept all of myself – blessings, burdens, and all. I am deeply moved by your indepth awareness and articulation. When an adult chooses to ask less, it is not as heart-breaking but when a child somehow internalizes Buddhist route of "have no desire" the child has no chance to be a child! Asian American Women On Leadership: having it all

http://aawolblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/having-it-all.html

January 7, 2009. The answer may lie in the eyes of the beholder. Perhaps the real answer is that nobody can have it all—but that we each are allotted different gifts, skills, opportunities, and experiences, regardless of whether we are male or female. At the very least, I cling onto this hope: that as I navigate the waters of the future in what seems like a thick, impenetrable fog, I am being led by God who sees and comprehends all that I cannot—and in whose goodness I can trust. Thanks Joy, Melanie.

Asian American Women On Leadership: the favored one

http://aawolblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/favored-one.html

January 22, 2009. God often takes us from familiar contexts to unfamiliar places in order to shake our perspectives about life, to shatter our old belief systems, and to transform our mind and soul. This past December and January, I made a trip to Hong Kong and God did just that. Several years ago, I started teaching at Logos. Last May, which shifted my perspective of center and margin, and through learning from Jesus’ example as a marginal person. Chloe Sun, PhD., teaches Hebrew Scriptures at Logos ...

Asian American Women On Leadership: flourishing in the new year

http://aawolblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/flourishing-in-new-year.html

January 14, 2009. Flourishing in the new year. I recently attended an InterVarsity-sponsored faculty, graduate student and professionals conference. "Human flourishing" was the theme. Over 12,000 academics and professionals gathered for over three days to explore God's vision for human flourishing in our world and within our specific disciplines. We began each morning with beautiful music and biblical teaching with N.T. Wright in the book of Colossians. Beverly Chen, MSW, LCSW, serves as Assistant Dean o...

Community Garden--Wholistic Spiritual Formation & Soul Care: October 2011

http://communitygardenoflife.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Community Garden- Wholistic Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. Friday, October 21, 2011. The Road of Life. Today is the kind of day that I feel I just cant pedal anymore.and I am reminded about this poem:. At first, I saw God as my observer, my judge, keeping track of the things I did wrong, so as to know whether I merited heaven or hell when I die.  He was out there sort of like a president.  I recognized His picture when I saw it, but I really didn’t know Him. Growing Deeper Roots :). Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; you are special. Posted January 19, 2011 by dianalee1 in Uncategorized. Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! 8211; Philippians 1:1-8 (MSG). Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Growing Deeper Roots :). Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; who is this King of Glory? 2010 – 2011. Posted December 30, 2010 by dianalee1 in Uncategorized. Now as I go into another year, I see so many transitions and positive life changes that will take place for me: I will graduate from seminary, I will hopefully start a new career in full-time ministry (job search has now begun), and will get married! And then hopefully get a new puppy. Convinced that God orchestrated everything… so perfec...

He’s always been faithful. Posted by dianalee1 in Uncategorized. Morning by morning I wake up to find. The power and comfort of God’s hand in mine. Season by season I watch Him, amazed. In awe of the mystery of His perfect ways. All I have need of, His hand will provide. He’s always been faithful to me. Yet, where am I stuck?

Growing Deeper Roots :). Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; 2010 – 2011. Posted January 3, 2011 by dianalee1 in Uncategorized. My pastor sent an article of a pastor who, on his 50th birthday, wrote about 12things he wish he lived out owhen he was 25… it’s so true. I was encouraged! 1 First up: Stop worrying so much! It’s useless. (I.e. Jesus was right.). 2 Being a saint means being yourself. Stop trying to be someone else and just be your best self. Saves you heartache. 11 Seven things to say freq...

Growing Deeper Roots :). Just another WordPress.com weblog. Posted February 14, 2011 by dianalee1 in Uncategorized. This is a poem we read today in a women’s discipleship group i’m facilitating at my church that i thought was pretty powerful. it’s about the important of taking risks, so that we may truly live. To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out for another is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self. Growing Deeper Roots :). Just another WordPress.com weblog. Posted March 4, 2011 by dianalee1 in Uncategorized. I love this song. I’m giving my life to the only One who makes the moon reflect the sun. Every starry night, that was His design. I’m giving my life to the only Son, who was and is and yet to come. Let the praises ring, ’cause He is everything. 8216;Cause He is everything. I’m giving my life to the only One who makes the moon reflect the sun. On that starry night, He changed my life.
