Half Price Words: Heart of an Oak
http://halfpricewords.blogspot.com/2013/11/heart-of-oak.html
The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." -St. Augustine. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Heart of an Oak. The branches of my heart are laden with snow,. Bending beneath the weight of emotion. Though I bend, I am not broken, and won’t be. Judged by the rings at my center. I am not like the willow; branches running. Downward like tears. But my arms reach. Out like those of the great oak tree,. With shield and spear in my hand. Each kerf made in my side. Once did my fortitude waver.

Keep Your Knees Closed: Cute Christianity
http://abbeyjomartinkus.blogspot.com/2010/11/cute-christianity.html
Tuesday, November 30, 2010. The guy who wrote S. Is seriously on to something. His book/blog are hilarious and spot on. Basically, for those of you who haven't been exposed to it, the guy calls Christians out on their weird habits that no one can explain (like why Christians think side hugs. Are holier than full frontals.) He also confronts common Christian anxieties, ( fearing the rapture would come before you lost your virginity. Most of it isn't bad, or horribly. In fact, my roommate and I decided tha...

Keep Your Knees Closed: Please Pull Forward
http://abbeyjomartinkus.blogspot.com/2010/03/please-pull-forward.html
Thursday, March 11, 2010. They always call me "Sir" in drive thrus. I'm not a sir. I am a girl. I consider this photo of me adequate proof of that fact:. I have two theories of why this always happens to me:. 1 I order an impressive amount of food. The only way I could throw that much back, is if I was a man. So, I get where they're getting the "Sir" from, I do. The high school sophomore who works at the Canyon Taco Bell thought that complete panic was the best approach to rectifying. I choose to laugh.

Keep Your Knees Closed: October 2010

Wednesday, October 13, 2010. I have a twitter account, a facebook account, and obviously, a blogger account. I can send text messages without looking, and I understand what people mean when they say dumb sounding stuff like "There's an Ap for that.". So, let me preface this post by saying, "Social networks and technology are not inherently bad things.". So I've worked for youth groups the last two summers, and I really enjoyed it a lot. I don't really want to battle to stay cool. I am inherently cool.
