The Brothers and Sisters. Repairs to the Gatehouse and roof turrets. Restoration of Main Gates. Refurbishment and roof repairs to the 17th century Summer House. Rebuilding original steps to kitchen garden. Decoration and repairs to Common Hall, Chapel and Guesten Hall. Conservation of several pieces of furniture and other artefacts detailed in original Hospital documents. The Brothers and Sisters. All our accommodation is self contained and has been upgraded to meet all the required standards for comfortable elderly living. Improvements have included walk-in shower facilities and fully fitted kitchens. Residents may be visited each day by the Warden and 24 hour emergency cover is provided by means of a supported call system.

It was founded by George Abbot, the Archbishop of Canterbury (1611 1633) in 1619 to provide homes for the elderly of Guildford. It is on the High Street in Guildford, opposite the Holy Trinity Church, where its founder, the Archbishop, is buried. Farmed land in Outwood belonged to the institution in 1911. A heritage appeal in 2004 raised over 500,000 to carry out extensive restoration work and renovation.
