vancouver. | my suitcase heart

http://www.abbybarwick.blogspot.com/2013/12/vancouver.html

Monday, December 2, 2013. 8221; I think that my Urban Ministry experience that was the Vancouver trip provided me with more questions than answers. Now, I did see local churches striving to rise up. I saw churches like Broadway doing programming for families to be able to get food and clothing- but is that really what people need? Next post →. 8592; Prev post. Designed by illuminatheme.com. Thursday, October 10, 2013. Dear Nineteen-Year-Old Me,. Look at how far you have come. You are no longer that girl who hates her body. You are no longer that girl walking around Brooklyn barefoot after a night of parties. You are no longer given worth solely by the people around you. You are now free. But amidst the wishing, there is knowing- knowing that God is using your story, knowing that though there was pain in the night… joy came. Thank you for always knowing me. our engagement story. | my suitcase heart

http://www.abbybarwick.blogspot.com/2013/12/our-engagement-story.html

Monday, December 2, 2013. I stood in the white snow, peering down a forest trail that was decorated with fairy lights and candles in mason jars. I had been brought to this place, just off of Fox Drive, under the impression that I would be looking at Christmas lights with my lovely girlfriends. He got down on one knee and opened a small box. Inside was a small wooden fox that he had carved. On it, it said “marry me? She was being held up in Remedy with a few of her girlfriends while myself and several oth...

little mercy. | my suitcase heart

http://www.abbybarwick.blogspot.com/2013/09/little-mercy.html

Thursday, September 5, 2013. I write from a place of brokenness before the Lord. A little girl who I blogged about here. Has gone to be with Jesus. She was a Ugandan child living in the slums, attending the local church where I got to encounter her. Sicle Cell Anemia took her. I think, now, of her sister, Briscla, who is so bright and cares so much for little Mercy. Pray for this family who has just lost their little daughter. It had taken me a whole week to earn that love with Mercy. She was a shy g...

All This Time...: June 2013

http://andrewklump.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Monday, 10 June 2013. The days of summer drift in on rain clouds. The year has taken me thus far from Edmonton to China, China to Thailand, Thailand back to Edmonton,. Then to Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi and finally onto the home soil of Ontario. Too seldom have I taken moments to pause and breathe and reflect on time gone by. Too few times have I walked across the field to one of my favorite place of reflection,. Seated on the rock that sits before the forest. Upward beyond the present pomp and pre...

All This Time...: September 2012

http://andrewklump.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, 30 September 2012. A Most Beautiful Sight. A new school year, a retreat in the mountains, new faces, new ministries, new stresses. The same God over and through it all. Hard to believe that a month of school has already come and past, a little hard to believe how quick time is now passing and a little hard to catch a mental grip on everything as well. Such is the importance of slowing down sometimes I suppose. Catching your breath. Those voices, that music, they are an offering of praise. Its...

Mustard Seeds: March 2011

http://courtneywhittier.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

A journey of faith. It is certainly spring break. This week we have 150 people serving with us at Mission of Hope. That amount of people can be overwhelming at times, especially for those of us working with teams, but it’s also absolutely incredible to have so many with a passion to serve. Our dinning center is packed every meal and we have teams going in all directions during the day doing different projects. My first day at Leveque before houses were built. Mia and two of her sisters. Life as i know it.

Mustard Seeds: firsts.

http://courtneywhittier.blogspot.com/2011/05/firsts.html

A journey of faith. This past month has been an extreme amount of firsts. I guess I could say that about the last 4 months, but this last month has been extra unordinary. Most I have loved and a few I would love to never experience again. So here they are in no particular order…. We had a team bring several rockets for the kids to help build and then set off. Most kids here have heard of rockets but never seen them. The kid’s reactions were priceless. They LOVED it! Got to be a tourist in Haiti. This is ...

Mustard Seeds: summertime.

http://courtneywhittier.blogspot.com/2011/10/summertime.html

A journey of faith. It is officially the end of summer here in Haiti. School started last week. It was supposed to start the first week of September, but due to the President it was pushed back a month. When I think back to the beginning of June (and even into most of May), I remember how overwhelmed I felt. How the thought of organizing, planning and running a VBS in Haiti literally frightened me. Do you ever find it funny when you look back at yourself? The relationships that were formed during the pro...

All This Time...: Sojourn

http://andrewklump.blogspot.com/p/sojourn.html

I had never left the province of Ontario until I was 21 years old. Now in 3 short years God has allowed me the opportunity to travel across Canada. And to so many other places,. To meet so many people,. And to see a little more of what He, as the master-builder, has created. I hope that everywhere I go I see Him in all things. And that I can share His love with all people. Remembering that I do not bring Him where I go,. But I find Him already at work in these places and join alongside Him.

Mustard Seeds: July 2011

http://courtneywhittier.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

A journey of faith. I realized this morning, as I looked at my blog that I never blogged in June. OOPS. Yes, June 2011 did happen in my life. In fact it was a very crazy month. Let me sum it up for you now…. Rehearsal dinner for Megan's wedding. So happy Matt is officially apart of the Whittier family! Rehearsal for Meg's wedding. Love and miss these girls so much. Mustard Seeds: mother's day.

http://courtneywhittier.blogspot.com/2011/05/mothers-day.html

A journey of faith. Today was Mother’s Day in Haiti. They called up some of the more seasoned mothers and gave them presents. The oldest was 91 years old! They had all the moms from around 60 years old to 91 on stage. What beautiful women. It was so fun to see how excited they were to go on stage and be recognized. Truly enjoyed sharing Mother’s Day with them today. May 30, 2011 at 6:59 AM. So glad I snuck my way in :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Life as i know it. Hometown.norman, oklahoma.

Abigail S. Batchelder. How to make a rainbow cake. Posted on September 30th, 2009. It’s quite easy, really. Start with any white cake mix. Prepare it according to the directions on the box. The recipe I originally followed called for two boxes of cake mix and I thought, “Why two? Next, divvy up the batter into 6 bowls. I tried to make the amounts slightly different, so the color on the bottom (purple) had more and the color on the top (red) had less, but I don’t know if it made a big difference. 7:45am B...
