Thoughts of a pre-service educator. Points on Good Teaching. May 7, 2011. I recently read an article from the journal Educational Leadership from September of 2002 which really inspired me. The title of the article was called. What Urban Students Say About Good Teaching. Good teachers made sure students did their homework. They controlled the classroom. They were willing to help students whenever and however. The students wanted help (emphasis mine). Good teachers explained assignments and content clearly.
