Thirteen children at risk took part in the project conducted by Ken Wall, Rotary Club of Templestowe, in August 2009. The entire school also produced a huge banner with over 200 handprints on it! Volunteers travel to Tanzania and spend about two weeks doing volunteer work for the schools, the children, and the community. Solar Light for Students. Cows for Family Farms. ABCD is committed to improving the learning environments for the children in their schools. The most common scenarios which we see in the schools are:. Leaky, rusting sheet metal roofs. Dirty, flaking, crumbling walls. Broken or missing windows and doors. Smoky, ramshackle cook houses with poorly vented ovens where the children’s lunches are prepared. Old, unsanitary toilets. Dusty, (or muddy in rainy season), walkways which need drainage/erosion control.
