Bristol Traffic: Just Plain Wrong
http://bristolcars.blogspot.com/2010/06/just-plain-wrong.html
In which we explore the options for getting round Bristol, and the consequences of those decisions. Tuesday, 15 June 2010. What is going on? Bristol Naked Bike Ride? Who's idea was that? I wanted to buy a new Top Gear DVD. Last Sunday, so I set off in the Range Rover for Cabot Circus, only to be confronted by this. Mrs Quercus was proper embarrassed, and the children didn't know where to look. I'll bet it's probably all over Flickr and Youtube by now. Disgusting. I am livid. I'll be contacting the ABD.

Manchester's Advanced Drivers: Tesco's "Helpful drivers" use the pavement...
http://manchestersadvanceddrivers.blogspot.com/2014/01/tescos-helpful-drivers-use-pavement.html
Dedicated to the drivers of Manchester who take the art of driving beyond the norm. Keep death off the roads, drive the cyclists onto the pavement. Tesco's "Helpful drivers" use the pavement. When it happens two Saturday mornings in a row it isn't coincidence. Last Saturday morning, Tesco van parked on the pavement. Same location, the following Saturday, different Tesco van, this time all 4 wheels on the pavement. Must be company policy to piss off pedestrians then! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Manchester's Advanced Drivers: Why Waste ASLs on Cyclists?
http://manchestersadvanceddrivers.blogspot.com/2012/11/why-waste-asls-on-cyclists.html
Dedicated to the drivers of Manchester who take the art of driving beyond the norm. Keep death off the roads, drive the cyclists onto the pavement. Why Waste ASLs on Cyclists? Why should Advanced Stop Lines be only for pedal cycles? Here's a two wheeled motorist and a minicab both making good use of cycle facilities on Deansgate. And here's a hackney carrage doing the same. And whilst we're at it, a Land Rover. But why stop at the ASL? Here's a rich bastard who sticks his Rolls out into the junction.

Has asked by way of our strategic code-sharing and data mining partners, Twitter, how to explain bias and self-selection in surveys. This is a topic dear to our hearts for a number of reasons:. We consider ourselves to Bristol's premier data-driven traffic analysis site. We recently conducted a survey on traffic issues for the city.

We're here with the first photos of the clifton RPZ rollout. As you can see —the paint is now down. In the background, the village has died, the trees have rotted away, and volcanoes have risen up out of the devastation. Zombies travel the wasteland, eating children and small pets. This is everything Clifton Tank Command warned us about!

Bristol Traffic: Tribars: not for urban use
http://bristolcars.blogspot.com/2015/03/tribars-not-for-urban-use.html
In which we explore the options for getting round Bristol, and the consequences of those decisions. Saturday, 28 March 2015. Tribars: not for urban use. Following on from our coverage of the fact that its sporty cars that lose from the 20 mph zone. We should look at the impact of the figures on bicycles. Even so, fast bikes don't have a place in the city. Stick to 20 or less: and if you can do that on the uphills you've earned those numbers. Yet here we see someone doing 6-8 mph in exactly that setup.

Bristol Traffic: Bristol's 20 mph zones: it's the hot cars that lose
http://bristolcars.blogspot.com/2015/03/bristols-20-mph-zones-its-hot-cars-that.html
In which we explore the options for getting round Bristol, and the consequences of those decisions. Friday, 27 March 2015. Bristol's 20 mph zones: it's the hot cars that lose. The 20 mph zone has been up for a year now, so it's time to review it as drivers. It doesn't make things slower. Really. It's the delays at junctions and in queues that increase journey time. It makes things calmer. There's less pressure to put your foot down when you do clear a junction. Keeping track of your speed? 22-25 is more ...
