This video is of a ethylene air flame approaching a "flame filter" made using the same techniques as crimped ribbon flame arresters. The initial flame, approaching from the right, transmits through the filter and burns vigourously in the turbulent mixture after the flame filter which arises from the flow through the filter and driven from the unprotected side combustion. This is followed by complex, highly turbulent flow oscillations through the flame filter.
