Our Portland home gets a 99th birthday makeover. Yes, Well…. October 16, 2011. Apparently, we’re enjoying being back in the house so much, I can’t be bothered to blog about it. Here are a few bits and bobs. Here is the one and only picture I have from the party. The kegerator was a hit. Much classier than having to pump the keg. And I’ll just note that after a couple of months of using the back stairs and lots of traffic on them during the party, they’re still standing! Good job, M! Yes, Well…. Notify me...

Built in 1923, Blogged in 2009. Monday, November 19, 2012. Most free minutes of the last two days have been spent stripping paint from the fireplace bricks. The front is this close. One side is almost done 90%, and the last side is yet to be stripped. If I buckle down and finish the front and first side tonight, that only leaves that last side, which I'm estimating is about 5 hours of work. So, probably 10 hours, right? We discussed the scope of their work, and the supervisor answered some questions we had about his experiences working with the City of Portland. They pulled the air scrubber out, and sprayed disinfectant around the basement floor and walls. Next they set up a dryer unit (that looked about the same to me), and said they would be back Friday to check on the progress. Call me, maybe? Plumber: Well, you're at a hotel, right? Built in 1923, Blogged in 2009. If you buy appliances at an outlet or scratch-and-dent sale, pick them up (or have them delivered) right away. Leaving them in the outlet gives them more time to get dented/scratched even more. Also, if you leave it there for a while, make sure they filled out some paperwork, demonstrating what scratches and dents were present at the time of purchase. When blowing insulation in your attic, wear safety glasses to keep the particles out of your eyes. Build shed * IN PROGRESS*.

Instead, I've been sunbathing, drinking sun tea, spraying the hose for no real reason, and drying my laundry on the line (which I string between an old metal fence post and the fig tree. Classy! Counter top.We were prepared for scuffs, chips, or burns, but we were not prepared for this:. After being away from the house all day, we returned home late in the evening. I went straight to bed, but my husband stayed up to watch a movie. In the middle of the night, he heard a loud noise. The counter top had cracked! Or, more accurately, the seam split. But for Justice and I it's not going to be a happy summer! We are leaving Simmons, for middle school! Thats right, we are graduating for Simmons. So, this is probablay the last post on A Better Bulldog for 2015! I'm trying to hold back the tear. But we are actually kind of excitd for Middle School, but we will miss Simmons! We will miss al of you guys!
