Sunday, April 12, 2015. What are your favorite Do Wop songs? As I sat down today to write, I heard two Do Wop songs play back to back; “Daddy’s Home” by Shep and the Limelights and “In the Still of the Night” by the Five Satins. I was immediately transported to that sweet spot in Rock and Roll history, the years between 1958 and 1963. Happily for me, those years closely coincide with my high school years. Sunday, May 3, 2015. What was your first car? Inspector Christmas was the name of the inspector who passed me. For the next few years, that Chevy and I drove all over town. Sure enough I got to the point where I could make the shift from first to second without beeping the horn. Sometime my senior year, the Chevy gave way to a Ford Fairlane Station Wagon with automatic transmission. Soon my time driving was cut down to just a couple of months a year when I was home from college. March 31, 2016 at 2:31 AM.

Even, standing out there in the middle of center field waiting for that next fly ball or riding the bus to school I’d be humming the melody to Buddy Holly’s “Rave On” or “Tutti Fruitti” by Little Richard! Sunday, April 26, 2015. Do you remember your Senior Prom? This weekend seems to be the peak of the prom season around here. Facebook is alive with the pictures of youngsters scrubbed squeaky clean and all decked out in their finest, ready for their big night out. Everywhere you went around town, you could see the stretch limousines speeding off to the dance venues filled with formals and tuxedos. My informal survey indicates that royal blue was THE color this year for formals. July 24, 2015 at 3:50 AM.
