a room somewhere: the time has come . . .
http://www.aroomsomewhere.net/2012/01/time-has-come.html
The time has come . . . For a few months now, I've been thinking about unplugging my life, to some extent. I'm sure you can relate to the ever-present online "world," and the more I think about it, the less I want to live there! My heart is here at home with my family, and lately it has become really attractive to pare down and zero in on where my true happiness lies. I want to be a better example to my children, and, overall, I just want to feel more present. Thank you so much for reading. I couldnt agr...

I'm loving the patina of these pieces from Kim Dulaney's shop, Fortune. Brass is just about my favorite jewelry medium these days . . . I like quite a few pieces from her shop - that first one is great. Love the first bracelet! I love brass, brass jewelry, brass furniture, it is so warm and cozy and can be so glamorous. Its amazing the type of beautiful things people make when it comes to necklaces. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm leslie. i live in texas. What I Wore Wednesdays.

a room somewhere: What I Wore Wednesday
http://www.aroomsomewhere.net/2012/01/what-i-wore-wednesday.html
What I Wore Wednesday. Seems like I only post church outfits these days, but that's the only day I remember to snap a photo anymore! I thought this looked like a nice, sort of icy, winter outfit. The skirt is a cool stiff, silver shimmer fabric that holds the pleats so nicely. A great find at Talbots. Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack. Chiffon neck tee: Old Navy. Labels: What I Wore. That skirt was a good find! I went for a similar look sunday - all snowy and sparkles. very nice my dear. What I Wore Wednesdays.

a room somewhere: Pillowcase Dress Tutorial
http://www.aroomsomewhere.net/2007/07/pillowcase-dress-tutorial.html
Here is a basic tutorial for making a "pillowcase dress," as modeled here by my 6 1/2 year old daughter, Audrey. At least 1 yard of fabric (1-1.5 yards), depending on your desired dress size. Matching (or contrasting) bias tape (or you can use your fabric). 1 1/2 yards pom pom trim. 1-2 yards wide grosgrain ribbon (at least 1 inch wide). Dresses with contrasting borders}. Your fabric to the desired length and cut straight across from fold to selvage. Step 4: Press and stitch hem. Step 6: Cut armholes.
