A Brief Intermission

My life takes a break. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. The Palisades, Aug 2-4. So I have been slacking on the blog, but I am pretty sure that the reason for that is all the adventures I have been having this summer. I left off with my first two 14ers of the summer, Tyndall and Williamson. So I will pick up the story from there. I reached the trailhead around 9:30 and took a few minutes to get myself and my gear in order. I did have a fair amount of gear since I knew I would be doing some snow climbing...

A Brief Intermission: July 2008

http://abriefintermission.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

My life takes a break. Friday, July 18, 2008. Lazy days of summer. For blogging that is. Damn I have been lazy in my writing here. I have been in and around LA for almost two weeks and I still haven't finished put down anything about my drive back from Chicago. Guh. Upon departing Madison I took a detour up to Minneapolis on I-94 solely to visit the Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery. Friday, July 11, 2008. On Monday, I had breakfast with Josh and Meghan, before grabbing my remaining beer out of Sheila's mom'...

A Brief Intermission: August 2011

http://abriefintermission.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

My life takes a break. Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Two Days, Two Peaks. So I wandered off trail through some talus and meadows until I rejoined the trail at the Pothole (10,800'), another small camping area. Fortunately this wandering led me to some of the best wildflowers that I saw on the hike. Lots of my favorite, columbine, growing in the talus. And holy crap, what a day on the summit! The trip back to camp was even faster, and I went to bed excited to climb Williamson the next morning. Afterwards, a...

A Brief Intermission: A Renewed Period of Writing

http://abriefintermission.blogspot.com/2011/06/renewed-period-of-writing.html

My life takes a break. Thursday, June 16, 2011. A Renewed Period of Writing. So far as I can remember, this has been the best June of my life. My birthday is June 7th and this year I spent that day in Yosemite Valley with some fantastic friends, looking at amazing scenery, climbing awesome rock, and marveling at my friends' ability to lead moderately hard trad on (sometimes soaking) wet rock. A Brief Intermission: June 2008

http://abriefintermission.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

My life takes a break. Monday, June 23, 2008. Well, I had some issues with Blogger just now and that has led to my posting twice on the same day. Oh, no! What will I ever do. I am in Boulder, CO today, crashing with Michele and Brian once again. I left the Bay Area on Friday and have been heading to Chicago since. I guess I didn't make much progress the last two days. Only a couple hundred miles, but I did get to explore a bit of Rocky Mountain National Park. The first stream crossing. Near dark I arrive...

A Brief History of "YOU"

A Brief History of "YOU". Even without the amazing ending, justifiably revered as one of the greatest in TV history, this is easily one of the funniest episodes of the series. There are several instances of great physical comedy from David Rasche. Review of: Sledge Hammer! The Flash II 1.22. Review of: The Flash. The Last Man on Earth 1.7. Review of: Th...

A Briefing With Michael | Daily review of the TV I'm watching. Mostly American PrimeTime shows (new and old).

A Briefing With Michael. How The West Was Won. How The West Was Won 16. In Reviews, Wallpapers, Music. On May 17, 2015. Craig T. Nelson. The first truly self-contained episode of the series. And it’s told mostly from the POV of one of the show’s weaker regular characters: Jessie. Luckily, after the slow start, things pick up considerably in the middle third. Suddenly there is real danger and tension in the mix. The love story is still central, and Vicki Schreck. Made myself a couple of Sledge Hammer!
